Has any one visited the EXPERIENCE this month?

I just got back yesterday. There were ticket lines from when they opened the ticket counter for about two hours, backing out into the main hotel. We were still able to get tickets on Friday by waiting until midafternoon when the lines were gone, and had no trouble getting into the rides. We had to reserve a space on the Saturday backstage tour on Friday, because all the Friday tours were already filled. That's a moot point for you, though, as they stopped running the backstage tours yesterday.
There's a long line for seating at Quark's restaurant tables, and unfortunately they don't have much space at the bar.
So be prepared to wait. But it's worth it.
Also, the souvenir shops are pretty much cleaned out.

It's fortunate I went to the Experience last year when it wasn't so crowded. I only had to wait about 30 minutes and got the full tour with the Borg 4-D and the TNG time travel adventures. Also got the backstage tours and saw the actors up close in the wardrobe and makeup rooms, as well as the inner workings of the adventure sets. I got a number of goods at the souvenir shop and sampled a Romulan Ale at Quark's. Nothing special though. It really tasted like beer with blue dye in it. I only got about halfway through it when they called my brother and me for our appointed tour. Overall, an excellent experience that I'm sorry to see go. It was only a few weeks after our vacation that I heard the announcement it was going to close, which made it fortunate we went when we did. I'm hoping they can bring it back to a Paramount theme park in the near future.

I just spent the week of the 10th there photographing and video taping the hell out of the Expreience. While most the place was "business as usual", the shops had been greatly depleted from the Trek Convention mob the week before.
Throughout that entire week it was pretty crowded, more so in the earlier part of each afternoon. By evening the ride lines weren’t that long. I only waited about five minutes to get on. However there was usually a wait to get into the restaurant. It was much quicker to get seated in Quarks Bar. I’m sure by the 30th though it’s going to be a lot crazier with everyone trying to see it one last time.
It really sucks it’s going away
and I’m keeping everything I can crossed that it can find a new home somewhere else in Vegas. I wouldn’t mind seeing it at the new Planet Hollywood Casino or perhaps Wynn could incorporate it into his new Encore Tower, especially since he’s also going to add a new convention center there. That’d be a great place to hold future Star Trek conventions.

It was pretty normal there when I visited, although it was around July 10th.
I would love to go one more time (I only went once years ago) but I doubt I will make it. Sigh.
You can still consider yourself lucky! I just noticed SINGLE bottles of it are going for well over $50.00 on E-bay! (sure am glad I smuggled a sixpack across the neutral zone last year... hmmm, what's the shelf life on food colored beer anyways? *grin?*)
Not bad, had a little bit of a wait getting in, but it wasn't too terribly long. I got there early enough though and it was only out to the hallway of the Hilton.
I visited with the family last Friday, August 22nd. We got there early, about 11, and had no trouble getting tickets, and there were no lines. The second time we did the Klingon ride, after doing the behind the scenes tour there was a 10 minute wait.
The selection at the store was limited, but I still picked up some fun stuff. The Borg'd bears were the hit of the family. There were no lines at Quark's and they had most of the menu items. The food was surprisingly good.

At this point the staff is pretty relaxed about your taking photographs even though they are required to tell you that you are not allowed.

I was really hoping to go during the final few weeks, but it just ain't gonna happen.
I'm saddened I never got a chance to see the Behind the Scenes tour, but hearing it ended last week was one more reason why I didn't make the effort to go this week.

Photography has always been allowed anywhere except on the rides, the BST, and of the gaming machines out in the casino area. Are you saying they're now letting people take shots in the transporter room, Ent-D bridge, Borg attack, etc?
I was there a couple weeks back and those areas were still off limits. No problems though up to the point of entering the rides, including the museum area.

I just got back and I loved every second of it. I met some terrific people there and its sad to see it go.
Its 11 pm on the 31st and I just got home from Vegas. The line for the rides was almost to the entrance, I had to wait 20 minutes to be seated at Quarks and this was at 11 am! I spent time reading some of the comments that people had written that had been posted on one of the ramps. One said, "Thank you for the Experience-it was the only thing that could help me forget my problems for a while." Another said, "Please don't close tis. It makes my Daddy reel happy. Maddy, 10." The people were all pleasant but subdued, like at a wake. I chatted with a couple and it was like we were all old friends. I found myself talking with a cab driver who had taken Denise Crosby and her family to the airport once. A bearded giant in an Admiral's uniform from Paducah, Kentucky. A man from Bakersfield who said he drove to Quarks once a week for lunch. A lady who had just been released from the hospital after major surgery on her leg. She could barely walk, even with a cane, but she was there. A pair of sisters in uniform there with their families-including a baby in a classic Trek command uniform-modified into a onesy. It was an experience I won't soon forget.
