I’ve just watched Duet, not only is it one of Star Trek’s best episodes, it features IMO the greatest ever guest star performance, by Harris Yulin. Absolutely incredible, his performance brings me to tears every single time.

Duet is one of the most powerful episodes of DS9, and a lot of that is thanks to Yulin's performance. I remember watching that episode for the first time and thinking "Wow this is horrific" but, like, you know - in a good way!
Also the director, James Conway, who had directed for Star Trek several times before.
One of my favourite Trek episodes from across all of them. I cannot watch it intoxicated as I end up a blubbery mess (see also The Visitor).
Unfortunately, that very final scene spoils it for me. It's not the death of Marritza but Nana Visitors reaction and it's a shame because until that final moment both actors had been pitch perfect, to me.
