Happy Holidays VOY fans and "fans" (includes gift)

Living in Philly is punishiment enough, that's right! Quick story about that:
A woman I am still in love with lives in Cherry Hill (just a short ride over the bridge in a swanky part of Jersey). When she gave me the heave-ho, she actually used the fact that I (had to) live in Philly as her reason! That's right. She was basically telling me - in so many words - that she was only "slumming" with me and that I can't get her the things she wants. Damn! It still bugs me. Anyway ... yes ... that's Philly for you.

As to Frakes wanting his own series, we know that he did. There is no conjecture to be had there. But ENTERPRISE didn't need any help in finding reasons to go off the air. Whatever "improvements" were made, came too little too late. You'll recall that ENT fans not only wanted to pay for another season, but they actually got the money together to do it, based on previous season costs. CBS had a FREE season where they could've made ALL the profit and they snubbed it! They didn't want it.

Well, crap, dude. Just take all the fun out of a flip comment, whydoncha? :wtf:

Well... okay. But they still could have given it a proper ending of its own, instead of making it all about Riker. Or if they wanted to include Riker, they could have done a crossover with Captain Riker and his ship as one last part of the Temporal Cold War and it still would have made more sense, to me. And it might have even been a better launch for a Capt Riker series.

I want to do a violence to you regarding the mention of Riker on Enterprise, here. (To be perfectly clear, this isn't a threat. I'm not saying I'm GOING to. Just that I WANT to. :p)

Indeed. It's bad enough looking at Riker well.. anywhere.. but when you stick him on ENT it's a monstrous fuckery of insult.

You ... ugh! ... you people need help!

I suspect Sybok's looks were not an impediment to his getting laid, considering his ability to put everyone under his spell. "Smokin' Hottie ... share your bed! Share your bed with me. My tool goes deep ..."

Sybok's no handsome studd! If not for his voodoo magic, he'd have no luck - at all - with the ladies. I did like how his death wasn't shown, however, because I, too, thought Sybok was underrated, as a character. It would've been cool to see him pop up in a later STAR TREK series, causing mischief ... using his love potions on Janeway might've proved interesting.

I think he's pretty good looking for a man his age.. and it's good to see a Vulcan like that as most of the older ones seem almost taxidermied.

I see him on a totally different kind of trip if he shows up again, still searching but with a different schtick. Having rewritten himself.

Sybok's certainly spry! He bounced Kirk all around the shuttlebay, sure enough ...

What you describe about possible later appearances is just so typical of how STAR TREK never learned to capitalize on cool characters. They either just get forgotten about, or they're not presented properly, when they do show up. Like Q. He started out as a prick and "evolves" into this bleeding heart who just wants to be a doting dad, by the time he starts hitting on Janeway. It's so frustrating having STAR TREK In the hands of people who don't seem to have a clue what to do with it. Thank Providence for J.J. Abrams ...
