I never liked Pumuckl much but I love der Brandner Kaspar und das ewig' Leben
I once lent the DVD to a northern German collegue. His comment: "great film, but subtitles would have been helpful!" ROTF If only he knew that the movie is already in a very much defused sort of High Bavarian, created especially for the non-Bavarian audience
Much like the Ohnsorg Theatre's "Platt", I guess.
Happy 276th Birthday to my fellow biologist Sir Joseph Banks! And best wishes to British author Eleanor Farjeon who imho rivals Roald Dahl when it comes to childrens' books. A pity her books are almost forgotten nowadays.
