Happy Birthday, Leonard Nimoy

Speaking of Leonard, has anyone noticed in more recent footage of him that he has a strange aberration of his right ear? I wonder what happened... if he was in an accident or had some surgery. He has a kind of Dr. Sevrin thing going on...

That just happens with old age. Everything starts to hang. He does suffer from Tennitus apparently... but I doubt that has anything to do with skinning hanging that comes naturally aging.

^ Well, not really. I've never seen someone with an ear lobe looking like that, even in their 90's. And just take a look at the left ear lobe, which looks normal. It suggests to me that he suffered some trauma... just curious as to what it might have been.

As someone who's embarrassingly conscious of small details about this man's person, I believe this is probably some small hereditary or natal defect. It you look very closely, it's also present when he was a young man. Seems like I even noticed it in a picture I saw of him as a toddler. I guess the wrinkles and sags of old age make it stand out more starkly.

Wow, is right! Good catch. I never saw that "irregularity" with his right ear when in the role of Mr. Spock. I'll bet you might catch glimpses of it in Mission too. Of course, no disrespect intended in pointing out a flaw... just a curiosity. :)

I'm going to have to leap in here and demand the credit for the "good catch". The post you quoted describing the defect as probably hereditary was from me (as quoted by Merky). However, much thanks to Merky for finding and posting the visual proof of my statement. I had not a clue how to do it for myself.
