Happy 3rd Anniversary for "Star Trek: Discovery"!

In some ways it doesn't feel like it's been three years. But in some other ways it very much feels like three years. So much happening in so little time IRL that it doesn't seem like it's gone by that fast, then you look back on it and then suddenly realize it was a lot of stuff and thus a long time.

Even within Star Trek itself: It's strange to think that at the beginning of 2017 there were only five live-action Star Trek series that had aired and one animated series. Now, soon, we'll be up to nine live-action series (once SNW and S31 get going) and three animated series (with Lower Decks and Prodigy joining TAS). And Short Treks.

3 years in and I have the same anticipation level I did for Season 1. I haven't anticipated a weekly show this much since TNG!

It probably doesn't feel like 3 years for discovery because over those 3 years we've only gotten 27 episodes - effectively one season by the metric of syndicated/network TV.
