Renewed for season 3.
Renewed for season 3.
I'm surprise but pleased.
Really? I wasn't surprised at all, it was obviously going to be renewed, the ratings aren't great but it's dirt cheap for NBC, there's no scripted show they could put in Hannibal's place that wouldn't cost 3 to 4 times as much. That and the fact that Hannibal is critically acclaimed means they'll keep it, at this point season 4 is a foregone conclusion, because even if NBC cancels the show it won't affect it that much, Hannibal's financing model means the american network is much less important than they are for shows primarily produced to air on them.I'm surprise but pleased.

Usually for american network shows it works like this: A network picks up a show and pays for it, they make their investment back by selling ads running during the show.I do not know much about how the show is paid for.
