Halo 3 frying my brain.

I just finished Star Wars the Force Unleashed and Marvel Ultimate Alliance. I've played some Fallout 3 and Gears of War. I decided I'd give Halo 3 a try since I got it last Christmas and never gave it a try. I started to get a headache, but figured it was no big deal. I blinked my eyes a few times and they teared up and I felt a little better(I wear contacts). I kept playing and got to the part where you first drive the Warthog and then you drive up to a forcefield, which you walk through and destroy before continuing on. I guess it took a couple hours or more since I was learning the controls and figuring out what to do.

When I stopped the game it was then that I realized that I was really fucked up. It was nauseating. I still feel fucked up and that was an hour ago. It is fading, but I got a doozy of a headache. I was telling my girlfriend about it on the phone right after and I almost felt like I would yack if I kept talking.

I dont know what it is about the halo games but I feel a bit sick too, and Im a big FPS player. I think its the crappy maps in the single player. I enjoyed the game and all but the way those maps are arranged are just annoying and makes me feel queasy

Some games just mess with your head. Older games are worse for it - I had something similar happen once with Wolfenstein 3D and again with Klingon Honor Guard. Something about the bobbing and the pace of travel really made me motion-sick & dizzy. I fiddled with some of the settings on each and the problem largely went away (though not completely on Wolfenstein). Try changing some of the settings if you can.

Halo 3 in particular is a problem when playing campaign--especially if you play in the dark. Every time Cortana's bright blue flashy craziness takes over the screen when you are walking is quite nauseating and very difficult to look at. I close my eyes while she's on there it's painful.
