Okay, so there, I'm promoting my own short film, which is going to film in October. If people have a problem, they can get rid of this thread. But I'm not just here to shove my proverbial wang in everyone's face, and I'm really only going to push my movie in this thread.
This is my third short film, it's costing me 10,000 dollars (I have raised 4300 of that, and if I don't raise the rest, I'm going into debt for a year and a half, which isn't too bad considering I'm still young). The movie was inspired by two things:
A conversation with my friend Marlo about the movie "Splash" which she loves, and I find to be a "Guilty Pleasure"... I know it's bad, but I love it so much.... And the fact that most of the movies in my collection are either about Fairy tales or have that two "con artist" pairing....
I wrote the script, and actually Marlo pushed me to make it, and wanted to play the lead.... Since she'd do it for free, had some experience, and would help pay for the thing, i said yes.
The story is about two swindlers trying to sell "Mermaid Fetuses" to the foolish saps of the world... Until a real Mermaid shows up and accuses them of murder.... Upon learning their true intentions, she decides she wants a piece of the action. Emotions run high as the balance the two once had is threatened, and no doubt hilarity ensues in this Dark Comic fantasy.
