Hair pieces.

Yikes, reminds me of a winter a few years ago here in Colorado when I made the mistake of going outside with wet hair in sub-zero temperatures and pieces of my hair literally snapped off. :(

I used to do that all the time in college.

Kes with a Afro.? Very interesting.

Would she look like Moma Cas,with it.?
She better stick with her sexy, short wig.

Come on, Kes would be Voyager's phychic Soul Sista' w/ the afro and some bell bottom jeans.

Tell me you can't picture her shakin' her booty to "Shake Your Groove Thang" by Peaches & Herb?
She would have been different, thats for sure thats for dang sure.
She would have been a better mate for Neelix.
Being such a great actor,I am sure that she would have done a great job of it.After all he was a real professional. and did comedy as well as serious acting.Look at Elogium.

Kes with an Afro hairstyle? (By the way, say hello to Eeky!) :)

Hmmmmmm...........nnnnoooooo, I don't think so. She would have looked kind of silly.

I don't know. I can see Kes wearing a do like Haley from Deal or No Deal. :techman:

Lol......yeah, I mean it could work. It would definately be interesting to watch her on screen with that do!

I did like Kes a lot more with her long curly locks, it was pretty.

Chakotay's hair looked better combed forward.

Janeway's looked sexy with long thick hair.

Torres looked the best with curly hair.

Kes looked better with the longer hair.

Tuvok's hair had to be a wig. No one has a hair line like that. I mean no one.

The hairpieces were just damned annoying. I don't really get why they constantly had to fiddle about with wigs all the time. A particularly confusing one was making Gates McFadden wear a wig when her real hair was really beautiful. I suppose it does help with keeping the hair look the same.
As for the hair of the Voyager ladies...
B'Ellana's "hair with braid" in "Real Life" was the best and Janeway's hair when it was in a bob was best. As for Kes's hair, it was a disaster half the time and beautiful the other half. Sometimes the hair would go from beauty to beast from episode to episode but the long hair did indeed look great, although even that seemed temperamental, sometimes being nice and under control and sometimes being a wierd or fuzzy mess...

he didn't

Indeed you'd be surprised how much minor changes in hairstyle can conceal receding hairlines.

Interesting. I just started watching season 1 and one of my first thoughts was "whoa...he's going bald!" I'll have to pay attention to how they hide it over the next 7 years of the show.

A lot of people have hairlines like that, it isn't always an indication of losing your hair. All of the men in my family including me have hair almost exactly like Tom's in season 1, but we have no history of hair loss. It's more of a widow's peak. Now Tommy Boy's hair did get a little thinner as the show progressed, partially because he had it cut extremely short.

Jeri Ryan wore a weave during "The Killing Game" during her singing scenes.

Not a weave but a fall. Weaves are woven to the hair at the scalp. A fall is pinned into the hair and taken out at the end of the day.
Girl, where I is from. All dem thangs is weaves!(snap!)

:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:!!!!!! Exodus, you kill me man!!!! :) That's funnier than hell! If you don't think that's funny then you need to get the hell outta here cause that was funny right there! :D:lol:

What about Chakotay? In later seasons when he wore his hair down, it looked slightly shorter than when it was up.

Of course a gallon of hairspray and gel might to the trick as well. :p

And let's not forget our dear Dr. Van Gogh. ;)

IMO, I preferred Chakotay's hair back. But with a little less..hair spray and gel. GEESH! The combing forward wasn't so bad either but I preferred the back hairstyle. Guess I was just used to it.
As for Kes' hair, I really loved the longer hairstyle she wore in "Scorpion" and "The Gift", however, when I saw some pics of her @ conventions, her hair looked worse than mine did when I had bad hair days! It was a frizzy mess!
I like B'Ellana's hair wavy/curly. Actually have had my hair the same way as hers for years..I call it the B'Ellana Torres do! She inspired me I guess. :techman:
Anyway, as for Janeway's, I really loved her ponytail do, as well as the times that she wore it down and long. And also loved the bob on her as well. As for the bun, meh! She looked like a librarian on crack!

Hubby's hair used to look just like that. **sigh**

Now Beltran has a head of gray hair and Hubby has...a lot less.

As for Janeway..I loved her ponytail--the one with the clip at the nape of her neck? She had it like that for "Future's End," right? Young enough but still "proper."

Liked that one and the bun o' steel better than the bob - although with her facial bones/structure she could've worn a bag and looked great!

Okay, I'm trying to picture that still be able to see "her facial bones/structure." ;)

oh - the quandry! we cannot very well ask her to wear a plastic bag on her head - one always hears that's dangerous for babies - it must be for big people too! oh - the conundrum!

Well, why not? After all, if the costume requires it, then the actor should wear whatever required without question.

This is the argument made on another thread regarding Jeri's Borg outfit which didn't fit properly at first and cut off the blood flow through her carotid into her brain.

Jeri is a beautiful woman who did not require all the garbage they stuck onto her to make her sexy. Such obvious appeal to hormones is embarrassing for everyone who's had sex at least once in their lives. (You know, the ones with an imagination.)

If Jeri was not receiving adequate blood to her brain that might explain her accceptance of such foolishness. Or maybe she really needed the work. I'm sure she's glad she's past all that!

The significant other and I were talking about how silly it ws for Trek women to race about saving the galaxy in wobbly heels. I pointed out it makes them look good. He asked if it made sense to sacrifice function for fashion. Yep! I got one of the good ones!
