Hadron Collider creates mini Big Bangs

Unless this thing can show how God created everything, it is not impressive to me.

If anything it's dis-proving it.

Nope. Now, if it's young earth creationism--absolutely.

But all we're seeing is the how--nothing about why or what happened BEFORE the creation of the universe. We are not creating anything new...only using what currently exists to make explosions. Useful, informative explosions, but we are still not making anything new. ;)

How would it possibly show that? It can broaden our understanding of the universe, certainly, but it's not going to show God flicking a switch or anything. Are you equally unimpressed by any technology that is unable to live up to those unreasonable standards?

Little point of correction: there was no "before" the Big Bang. Time as we know it started with it. Theologically, it doesn't mean anything, but it's always better to use the terminology correctly.

Wait, wait...how do we know the Hadron Collider didn't create the universe?

Big Bang Creates Universe, Universe creates Man, Man creates Hadron Collider, Hadron Collider creates Big Bang

Within this particular universe--but until we have proof that there are no other universes in existence, we don't know if we are in a position "relative" to other universes.

As for God, He is beyond time from the perspective of ALL universes that would exist and the concepts of "before" and "after" would be unnecessary.

I bet He was trying to say pants when He made plants. It's why Adam's always painted with a leaf or shrubbery.

Actually, he was going to spend a year on the project, but got bored after six days and went off to dance nekkid with the Angels.

Explains a lot.

There's a perfect Perry Bible Fellowship strip for this comment, but the art violates board rules. :(

Well, "other universes" are an interesting mental exercise, but since there is no way for current physics to prove or disprove them, they are not really part of accepted physical theory. Thus, my opinion is that the default position should be that they don't exist until proved otherwise, not the reverse.

Well, this is the Christian position, and as good as anybody else. :)

Oh shit, now somebody's going to try to bomb the Vatican.

Is it telling how big geeks me and bro are when I saw this yesterday I just yelled out "Dude! They did it!"
"Did what?"
"CERN!"
"Recreated the Big Bang?!"
"Yeah!"
"AWESOME!!!"

Yeah we're pretty geeky
