One thing about Lt. Stadi always bothered me... she tells Paris, a disgraced ex-Starfleet officer and prisoner borrowed for the mission, about the bio-neural gel packs when she tells him about the ship. That was a very new technological addition to a Starfleet vessel, so new that she was one of, if not THE, first ships to have it as part of the ship's systems. And it was likely a classified technology... or at least, classified to people who are not currently serving in Starfleet.
I understand the need to explain that technology in the pilot, but that could have been added anywhere. Isn't what she did a criminal act, letting out Starfleet technological knowledge like that to someone outside Starfleet?
The only way I can see around this is when Janeway brought him aboard, she put his clearance level high enough to warrant that sharing of information.

Well, I mean, if I say I have a transporter at home, that won't give you any idea how I built it, will it?
I imagine the specs for the gel packs might be classified, but it's hard for me to believe they're so incredibly amazing that simply dropping the term without any detail would be problematic.

Actually, in Eye of the Needle Janeway is pretty blasé about the fact that Romulan spies have likely already done a full work-up on Voyager.
If she's okay with the Tal Shiar and the Romulan government having detailed information on her ship, then I'm sure she's fine with Stadi telling Tom about the gel packs.
It's one thing that another empire GAINED the information from spies and such, but quite another when one of your officers actually PROVIDES it.
She was also explaining a bit on how the gel packs function.

All she really provides is a general description of the gel packs, nothing about how they function. Indeed, that sounds like routine information that would be publicly available on Federation Wiki rather than anything classified.

Exactly. When the U.S. Navy was building the Zumwalt class destroyer, there was all kinds of information available, even 3D diagrams of the ship. The ship is still brand new, and look at the readily available information on Wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zumwalt-class_destroyer

I don't think Stadi was into Tom at all. Like you said, his 'charms' did nothing for her. Maybe they could have been friends, but nothing more than that.
Actually I think Tom and Stadi were too much alike, really. If they had dated, it wouldn't have worked out. Tom expected to win Stadi over, but he found true love with somebody he never expected - i.e. B'Elanna.
