Gul Evek. Most underrated Cardassian. Agree?

In season 3 absolutely but not in further seasons where Eddington became leader of the Maquis all of a sudden. The Cardassians were not themselves anymore, Evek wouldn't fit in that new reality.

Eddington being taken out of the equation might have been the best thing that could have happened to the Maquis...

I liked Evek in most of his appearances, though I was a little disappointed by his cameo use in "Caretaker". It was interesting that they left his fate unclear...I recall I initially assumed he had survived (the damage to the Cardassian vessel didn't seem that bad), but then I thought I read that he'd perished there.

I'd also be curious to know what became of him subsequently, and it's a shame he didn't appear on DS9 after that point. Perhaps he became an important figure in the Cardassian government after the Dominion War?

It would have been nice to see a little bit more of Evek in the last couple seasons of Deep Space Nine but we had to deal with Garak and his spy master mentors Section 31 and Bashir's genetically enhanced loony bin friends
Garak never worked for Section 31 which was a Federation security organization. Garak worked for the cardassian Obsidian Order untill his fall from grace which led to him being deported to terok Nor, later a federation outpost named Deep Space Nine.

As for Bashir's genetically friends, the episodes with them are those DS9 episodes I most of all want to skip when I watch the series.

In fact, I think they did a great damage to Bashir when they came up with this genetivcally altered thing. He was a good character as he was, no need to come up with that mumbo-jumbo.

No way Evek and his goons could pull that crap in the 4th through 7th seasons of DS9. No way.

So during the Dominion War when Garak was breaking Cardassian codes, was he working for Starfleet Intelligence? Or Captain Sisko? Maybe they left it a little nebulous just to help Garak with his conscience.

Excuse me but I never frikkin said Garak was working for Section 31. I said that the show dealt more with Garak and his old spy masters/mentors of the Cardassian spy order, along with show dealing with Section 31

As you know, Garak is Cardassian and he doesn't work for anyone in Starfleet or the Bajorans but his intentions was always for the glory of Cardassia. At least the order he honored.

Sorry, I misread your post.
