I think they'll go for a totally different timeframe with nobody characters - maybe something far out and mystery building like the Black Rock or Temple or statue.

This. In particular I'd like to see the building of the temple, and who built it. And maybe a reveal that Jacob, Jacob's adversary, or Richard was around during that time frame. Or if they really wanted to blow our minds they could pan back to reveal Locke or Jack overseeing the construction.
