I just saw it for the second time ever on blu-ray. Loved it all over again! I'm still shocked and how science fiction-y they went with this one. No more attempts at realism. Nova Corps! The Kree! the head of a Celestial! Thanos! Love it!
I liked Marvel when it was more grounded and less cartoon-y
Yes, less cartoon-y.
Like:
- A man who builds a robotic power-suit out of junk in a middle-eastern cave. He then goes on to build a powered armor with an advanced AI and interface in his garage that's powered by an electro magnet in his chest that basically creates limitless energy.
- A Norse God with a hammer only he can pick-up and summon that allows him to fly.
- A man who was exposed to radiation and chemicals allowing him to grow 2-feet taller and gain 100 pounds of muscle mass. As well as having an enhanced immune system, stamina and physical limits.
- A man who was exposed to radiation and chemicals that causes him to grow several feet and put on several hundred pounds of muscle mass when he reaches a certain emotional state.
- Two perfectly ordinary, if skilled, human beings who're able to take on an army of aliens with advanced weaponry.
Yeah, Marvel really should stay grounded in reality as opposed to going to a "cartoon-y" aspects like a surgically and technologically modified raccoon, an anthropomorphic alien plant, an alien assassin all flying around in a spaceship visiting such exotic places and an alien depot the size of moon, built inside of an alien skull.
THAT'S just too much.
Norse Gods and giant green monsters? Okay!
Talking raccoons and giant alien skulls? Nope!
