Guardian Review of Hartnell's first adventure

I don't think the review was that bad, episode 2 is pretty poor compared to episode 1.

Were this not from the website of the paper, I would be pretty skeptical about its authenticity. The last line is a bit too cute.

Always fun to read old reviews of, what are now, classic movies or tv shows.

The Guardian re-reviewed the first episode in 1981, when it was repeated in the Five Faces season. That reviewer (who noted that despite being hooked since the first Dalek story, he'd never seen the first episode before) was a lot more complimentary.

I was under the impression it became that way again, in the mid 80s, but, before that period it was appreciated for alot of years
