Green Lantern Emerald Knights (DCU Animated Movie) News

Even thought I'm new to the Green Lantern mythos, I'm just as excited for this as I am for the live action movie. I've really enjoyed the other DCUA movies I've watched and I really like the cast they've put together for this one.
Oh, and I love the idea of Jon Hamm voicing Superman in a future DCUA movie, I could see that working really well.

"With that one big exception (Batman), DC's heroes are from a different era," Whedon recently told Maxim Magazine when asked why the publisher had so much trouble bringing its iconic characters to the big screen. "DC's characters, like Wonder Woman and Superman and Green Lantern, were all very much removed from humanity. Batman was the only character they had who was so rooted in pain, that had that same gift that the Marvel characters had, which was that gift of humanity that we can relate to."

I think that sounds like a pretty good analysis. I'm a big DC fan, but most of those characters were created to be these noble, perfect, larger than life figures that kids could look UP to.

It's just too hard to get inside the heads of characters like that and make them relatable for audiences.

^ That's always been the case with DC Characters. Marvel Characters have always been the easier characters for regular audiences and fans to care and relate to.
