Green Arrow (CW)

When a show does surprisingly good so quickly like Arrow has, is it possible that the network throws more money at them as a reward for being awesome?

Almost never. If they are lucky their budget isn't cut as much at it normally would be.

Great news!

Glad to hear it, I like her.

That is cool, I like her.
Looks like she's turning into a real favorite, and Rickards' career seems to be doing well for someone who's résumé only goes back a year.

Anyway, just saw the latest episode. They made Ollie and Diggle look incompetent just so that Felicity could save the day. Seemed a bit contrived.

And what was the significance of those tattoos?

Speed versus armour.

If they can't hit you, you don't need armour.

If you have armour, you can just stand there and take it.

The problem is that armour slows you down, so the best of both worlds just gets you killed, if your armour is too light to stop a bullet but just heavy enough to slow you down..

So we introduce Shado last night. And my island timeline is shot to hell with the 6 months comment from Slade, who had a most excellent kill last night. A good island intensive episode.

I just noticed in the island sequences last night that Ollie's hair/beard had visibly gotten longer. Which is funny considering it's not a full beard. Somehow he has access to a razor but no trimmer.

A really good episode. I was glad to see Felicity get in on the action more, and I thought it was cool to get an episode mostly made up of island flashbacks. Slade was awesome, but Bennett is pretty awesome on Spartacus, so that was expected.

What was the name of Slade's partner (the one actually wearing the orange and black Deathsroke mask)? Is that name from the comics?

The name Wintergreen is from the comics. But the characters have no similarity. In the comics Wintergreen was Slade's much older butler. Basically his Alfred.

Baltar and Tory meet again! We got ourselves a little BSG reunion with James Callis and Rekha Sharma.

And Felicity was ridiculously hot. I didn't even recognize her at first.

It was also nice to see a bit of emotion from her too.

So we had a crashed plane in this episode in the flashbacks. The island stuff is looking more like "Lost" all the time.

^The crashed plane has been in about the last 3 episodes.

Yep, Felicity was Smoakin.

And Hah! I knew Deadshot wasn't -erm, dead.

A really good episode. I loved all of the guest stars and was pleased that Oliver and Diggle got in some romance. And it looks like Thea and Roy will get closer. The meeting of the Speedys, the BSG reunion, the return of China White, and Deathstroke flashbacks, awesome!

^That sums up my feelings pretty well too. Lots of stuff to like about this one.
I think this one of the few shows besides Lost that has actually managed to make the flashbacks and present stories equally interesting.
