Great Moments: Picard/Riker - join in on the fun!

I did like their interaction in the Binars ep. I esp. like when they regain control of the ship and Picard is going to take over the Con position. He freely admits it's been awhile, but then he says, "Not to worry, Number One. We're in good hands." -- RR

I'm surprised no one mentioned "11001001". I thought they were great together in that.

I agree. It's a shame that it takes all that time up to the Gambit to see them working again in a similar way. I didn't realise for a long time that you rarely see Picard and Riker working off the ship, or even on the ship on a common problem in that way.

I like the brig scene as well at the end.

I can't believe I forgot that scene! That's one of my favourites, too. Thanks for mentioning it. :)

And let's not forget 'The Price' where Picard and Riker compare the negotiations with playing poker. The look Picard gives Riker after he walks into the turbolift is priceless.

Agreed especially since Riker is a heck of a Pilot himself, but Picard is no slouch remember the TNG episode "boobytrap"?

Yep, that was fun. Picard says to Wesley, "I relieve you, Mr. Crusher," takes his place next to Data, and they exchange glances how Data and Geordi used to in the first season.

I like in their first meeting after Riker completes the manual docking, Picard explains to Riker he's not a family man, but Starfleet has given him a ship with children. He grins and says, "But since a captain needs an image of geniality," then his voice turns gruff again, and he continues, "you're to see that's what I project."

What else could Riker say except, "Yes, sir."

I really liked their last scene together in Nemesis.

Picard: "If I may, just a word of advice about your first command?

Riker: "Anything."

Picard: "When your First Officer insists that you can't go on away missions..."

Riker: "Ignore him. I intend to. Serving with you has been an honor."

Picard: "The honor was mine, Captain."

I love how he calls Riker, captain at the end. Also, the whole thing about away missions is a nice little nod to their very first conversation in the pilot.

Well, the dynamic between the two has always had a hint of hero worship for Riker. One of the best instances of that was in The Battle. Picard is explaining how he created the Picard Maneuver, which Riker cites by name. Picard shrugs off the compliment and says, "I did what any good helmsman would have." Riker smiles, repeats that comment with a touch of incredulity at Picard's modesty, and adds, "You did it first, sir!" -- RR

Another fab scene from 11001001 was the scene on the bridge were Picard takes the Conn to take them back to spacedock. I just loved that.
