Great Moments in TrekBBS History!

12 years ago I joined to try and promote my first Star Trek the animated series comic, an adaptation of Yesteryear. Someone commented they were disappointed it was not an original story. I asked if anybody wanted to help me write one and Kelso said he'd give it a try. 12 years and 10 comics later we are still at it. http://startrekanimated.com/tas_comic_main.html

I STILL to this day remember that Goddamn "Electrical Superstorms!" audio for the trailer to, as I recall, the movie "The Core".

I also remember the Goddamn dragon that flew across the screen.

I recall this large orange soda(?) I have a picture saved somewhere) ad that dropped down from the top of the screen, like an upside down pyramid and covered something like 75 to 80% of the screen.

I remember the great Christmas Massacre; I don't recall the details exactly, but many users had accoutns screwed up because of a hacking. As I remember, I had joined a few months prior and barely made any posts and wham -- I was a victim.

I remember the ever-present JAyson and his weird posts. Wasn't he the one who did the Superman farting and Superman masturbating threads? Possibly others with monkeys.

I also remember baord member Goji. Who transgendered into Iris[/i]. Who's probably become another transed-name by now. Hey -- I remember this!

Unfortunately, I don't have the infamous Goji/car comparrison picture handy.

:guffaw:

Has anybody mentioned the creation of Carl Spock as a great moment? That was on the board, right?
Damn straight it was. My claim (well half claim) to internet fame.

Awesome! I thought it was you.

I laughed so hard it hurt when I first saw him mind-melding with a vegetable.

Who was the other half?

And it is Internet fame. "Carl Spock" will properly match on Google.

I am reminded by this thread that I forgot to buy tartare sauce and that is really sad.
Couldn't you make some yourself? It's only a variation of common mayonnaise, after all.
Sure, buying it is more comfortable but the homemade sauce is infinitely tastier and doesn't contain all these unhealthy preserving agents, artificial flavours and colourings.

I enjoy things with preservatives. They last so much longer.

Especially with a bit of codeine at the tip.

To this day, my favorite Jayson thread was where he documented an "experiment" where he tried to will himself to arousal and masturbate at the sight of his shoe on the floor. It was not a terribly long or long lived thread, but I just can't get the picture out of my head of masturbating monkey wearing a lab coat dutifully taking notes.

Shatmandu came up with the name. I came up with visual.

And I and many others thank you guys for your combined weirdness and creativity. I'm sure it was fuelled by substances you can't openly discuss and likely a blackmail threat by one side, but you have our thanks.

Carl has become a part of Internet culture. That's more than we could have hoped for at the time.

Yes. I always read the whole thread before posting in it.

This made me laugh so hard I've started crying. I'm at work and trying to stifle the laugh-tears as much as possible.

Reading about Jayson experimenting with his shoe didn't help.
