Great Enterprise shots from the QMx replica

A lot more details about it here http://www.quantummechanix.com/Enterprise.html

This baby will be super expensive

The Artisan Enterprise is entirely airbrushed by hand with some 24 colors of metallic and flat paint...
The model itself was created using master components generated directly from CG files supplied to QMx by Industrial Light & Magic...
The SFX Edition of the Artisan Enterprise features approximately 200 custom-built lighting effects...
34” long x 15.75” wide x 7.5” high...
Options available for customization include: Shuttle bay doors, Battle damage, Custom-engraved base...

Stunning.

But I didn't even see a price listed. If you have to ask...

Guess I'll stick with my Spock and Kirk action figures.:rommie:

Well, at least the word is that they will be making a 15 inch cheaper model as well. So maybe that will be easier to buy.

And they are also making USS Kelvin versions in 2010.

Oh, 2-3k easy!
My Playmates replica & the coming 12" model in December will hold me just fine. Yeah, it's a beauty all right, but my imagination can more than make up for the thousands I don't have to spend on it.:guffaw:

But, there's always cat-burglary...:shifty:

I'm hoping AA makes as many different ships as it can. Despite the paint on my All Good Things - D being less than ok.

AA doesn't have the license for ST09 toys. Playmates does.

And I don't think Playmates would be content to change that any time soon, either.

Is it an indefinite agreement?

Playmates had the first hold on all the toys for Trek didn't they? I know I had all the PM stuff loooong before I saw the AA "better" offerings.

These are the same models which were on display at the Arclight Theater in Hollywood when Star Trek opened there, I believe, and may be the same ones which were used in The Enterprise Project. (See gallery here)

I'm not sure that they are the same.
In these new shots the E looks more detailed, with better lights and better paint job than the old Arclight model.

Or are my eyes fooling me ?
It could be an improved version, but the model is by the same maker as the model which appears in the photos seen here, and the scale seemed to be about the same. I remember some question back then about whether those models would eventually be made available for sale. This makes me think that either they are the same, or that those Arclight models were polished prototypes for the collector models being announced in the link in your OP.

Edit:

Okay, having had more time to do some comparison, I find you're right -- this new one does have quite a bit more detail to it, particularly where lighting is concerned. I do notice this, however, on the page you linked above:

The U.S.S. Enterprise Artisan Replica will come in two editions: standard and SFX. The standard edition is built exactly the same as the SFX edition, including all the attention to detail, but excludes the lighting system.
Perhaps those models exhibited at the Arclight were standard-edition models, only tricked up with a non-standard, more basic lighting system?

I SO love the new design now... I'm not sure I've made that entirely clear from my other posts & threads.
