Great Enterprise shots from the QMx replica

I say it's 112 meters.

NuKirk and NuSpock are obviously tinier than their original counterparts.

366 with a TARDIS for a shuttle bay. ;)
I say let's compromise and say it's in the 400 Meter range.:techman:

I'd say it's 2000 meters. So the compromise will be more like 1km. :techman:

I'd say we already have a thread on the size matter that just won't die, lets not screw this one with size talk.
Pretty please ? ;):p

These are the same models which were on display at the Arclight Theater in Hollywood when Star Trek opened there, I believe, and may be the same ones which were used in The Enterprise Project. (See gallery here)

I'm not sure that they are the same.
In these new shots the E looks more detailed, with better lights and better paint job than the old Arclight model.

Or are my eyes fooling me ?
It could be an improved version, but the model is by the same maker as the model which appears in the photos seen here, and the scale seemed to be about the same. I remember some question back then about whether those models would eventually be made available for sale. This makes me think that either they are the same, or that those Arclight models were polished prototypes for the collector models being announced in the link in your OP.

Edit:

Okay, having had more time to do some comparison, I find you're right -- this new one does have quite a bit more detail to it, particularly where lighting is concerned. I do notice this, however, on the page you linked above:

The U.S.S. Enterprise Artisan Replica will come in two editions: standard and SFX. The standard edition is built exactly the same as the SFX edition, including all the attention to detail, but excludes the lighting system.
Perhaps those models exhibited at the Arclight were standard-edition models, only tricked up with a non-standard, more basic lighting system?

Perhaps.
Or as you said maybe the Arclight model was just an early prototype which they tweaked and improved down the road.

I SO love the new design now... I'm not sure I've made that entirely clear from my other posts & threads.
I worship at the Church of Ryan.

As do I. :D

Although I'm not really sure how much of the final design is Church's, and how much is the guys at ILM...

In any case, hopefully they won't listen to any of the naysayers and modify the design for the sequel. I think it works perfect the way it is.

Iagree. The design was perfect and I hope they do not change it for the sequel.

But I do want one of these models. They're great.

From the final art submitted by Church, I'd say it's mostly his, the ILMites just textured the hull more & added some grooves here & there. Looks like, anyway.

Do you know where I can find these pictures posted online? I think they took them down from the official site so they could sell the pictures in a book.

Well, the concept art you can find on Ryan Church's site, it is back up.
But here is a big version anyway

Also, more concept art you can find in this post http://www.trekbbs.com/showpost.php?p=3130844&postcount=10

As for the 3 from ILM, the ones I posted here are the biggest size I've found so far.

Yeah the basic shape is clearly his, but honestly if it had been left as sleek and curvy as that (and with those colors), I probably wouldn't like it as much.

I think ILM added just the right amount of detail, made the parts real and practical enough, and came up with the best colors to make his design work.

It was like an excellent inker on a awesome penciler. We got a stupid* finished product!!

*Stupid like the way Madonna used it waaaaay back.:techman:

No! 200 kilometers!

I want to win the next Star Trek v. Star Wars debate, canon be damned!

One thing I like from the original Church work was the smooth, polished finish. It even looks like the windows are part of the finish, without any frame or transition. The hull looks like it smoothly glides over everything. It's a new look for the Trek universe, and lends itself to the idea of a futuristic means of production.

I completely agree. I said that there somewhere too; as if the entire hull is some sort of single, composite (or perhaps grown) material. Very smooth and futuristic looking, much more then a few pieces of simple metal.

While I prefer the final version, I WOULD definitely love to see some other shots or a realistic CG version of his design.

Maybe one of the Trek Art guys will come up with something one of these days...
