Grand Theft Auto IV

The first trailer for The Ballad of Gay Tony has been released and signals the return of parachute jumping and golf carts. It seems like they're bringing some of the over-the-top fun back.

Too little, too late. They should have just made it like Vice City to begin with and ditched the stupid urban gangster shit.

I plan on buying the first two DLC in disc form later in the year or early next year.

They need to release the DLC for PS3 at some point (soon).
Well Microsoft did loan Rockstar the money to make the episodes, I would guess that part of that contract is that it will be a long time, if ever before they come out on the PS3.

Seconded.
Yes, ignore your contacts. They are worse than real life friends!
Niko will always hang out with you, no matter what.
I would refuse to play it on PC with that logging in crap. I don't have time/system resources for that.

Try it on Xbox if you can (Akiraprise),30 bucks is a good deal for PC, but a smooth GTA experience is a sweet one. I know from experience, back in 2003 when I first got hooked on GTA3 and was able to just barely get in running on a 486... blew my mind when I broke down and got a PS2.

I don't have an Xbox, so that's not going to happen unfortunately. This game is a huge PC hog though. Brings my Core 2 Duo 2.4ghz with 4 GB of RAM PC to a crawl.

I agree with those who say it was overrated, though I did not bother to play through the whole thing - I got sick of it around the time of the bank job mission. Is there much to the story after that?

I've played and enjoyed GTA games in the past. I completed the last 2 before this to 100% - though at times that's a bit of a chore really. While this one was good in parts, it didn't seem anywhere near a 10/10 perfect game as it was touted as being on some of the gaming sites. One of the gaming magazines called it "The best game ever made". I mean, really...

Depending on which missions you chose to do the bank heist normally takes place about 2/3rds of the way through, but the missions after that focus on the mafia and it's too far removed from the rest of the story.

GTAIV was good although as people have mentioned, overrated. My main problems were the lack of airplanes (I know they only really had planes in VC and SA, but still) lack of sillyness (it seemed too serious a lot of the time) and my main problem: where was the goddamn tank ? Online GTA races and deathmatch were loads of fun although I think they should have included the ability to map your own race routes. They did get a bit boring after a while.
