They should have focused on one plot instead of two or intertwined the two plots as the show reached its climax. Other then that it was a decent plot with a decent execution. Could have been better but it wasn't horrible either.

no, no, no...

ever seen Smallville?? THAT show needs to focus on one plot.... i've seen some eps that have about FOUR plots, all of which have ALMOST NOTHING to do with each other, if anything....

so i don't complain about ENT's multiple plots....

Reno, the difference is, you got personal as your comments show.(in the original post to which Top41 took exception.) That is what is unacceptable, not the disagreeing with someone's opinion of the show. You can disagree with someone's grade and assessment of the show without comments such as "Tiresome? Just as people like yourself"

If you don't like someone's assessment, point out why without getting personal. If you wish to discuss this further, either hit M.A. or message me on PM.

B-, if for no other reason than Archer actually acts like a man in this episode. Otherwise, it's just a pinch of "Move Along Home" and a dash of "The Enemy", shake and bake...and voila! "The Breach"!

I must abstain from voting (since I'm no longer a viewer) but I do hear from reliable opinions that the writing on this show was pretty good. Not even a week ago I was complaining that "we all know that this show is going to end with the discovery of the first tribble ... whooptee doo." Well, guess the show somehow outlasted that prediction. Hopefully, we'll start seeing a Star Fleet, some souped-up Daedelus cruisers, the S.S. Archon (wouldn't that be cool? Actually writing a spec script on that) a run-in with the Nomad Probe, and everything that this show was SUPPOSED to be ... hey how about some green Orion chicks, and maybe some pirates or two? Throw in some continuity from TAS and this will be even better.

I may have to turn this thing on this weekend to see the "Teaser"

Naaah. Touched By An Angel Series Finale on that night, so gonna' be on CBS.

Maybe next time.

When you need real acting, call Linda Park. I hear she did great in her 2 or 3 lines. The girl needs more to do.

I see they're trying to make things better, more things to see, more stories to hear. Although that criff thingy for me is soooo overused.

Maybe Enterprise is too realistic for people who get used to TOS or TNG, there is no fantasy about the stories, it's real and color-less. (that's the reason why I really love enterprise) Maybe they need little more color. in the story or people.

I enjoyed this episode. The production values were quite high, and it featured an ethical dilema. Plus, I'll bet I wasn't the only one who winced and groaned out loud when Travis' foot got stuck as Trip and Reed fell.

Well, your ability to read has obviously eluded you. I asked Worf999 a simple question laced with irony. It wasn't nasty, insulting or particularly offensive. It was humorous if anything.

Top41 comes in to a conversation that has nothing to do with her whatsoever and tells me my 'fascination is tiresome'.

Stop backing each other up when this is clearly Top41 on another one of her fucking high horses. I didn't do anything wrong and she had no cause to reprimand me for something that wasn't even aimed at being devisive in the first place.

It's another 'C' episode, guys... There was nothing special or worthwhile about this episode any more than any other episode... TOS episodes I can see over and over again... These E ones are like watching paint dry...

But as for you guys who feel it's 'A' or 'B' material, your justification for doing so is quite typical of what B&B are Aiming for...

1. Once upon a time, a long, long time ago... Episode Teasers in Trek episodes were there for a reason... That Reason was to setup the entire episode... A tiny window into its plot... Today, the teaser is just a gimmick to entice TOS fans to watch the episode... Look no further than Phlox feeding a tribble to a critter in this episode, for proof of that... And, yeah, it's so Typical that So Many of you have given this episode high marks simply Because of that one-minute scene which has no bearing whatsoever on the plot of the episode! Maybe after the success of this gimmick, future episodes will feature...uh...Dr. Phlox and his pet Regulan blood worms? A Denebian slime devil?

2. "They're putting the 'message' back into Trek"... Phlox's ethical dilemma/prejudice... It's like the tribble scene above: Let's chuck this in to give it a more Trek-like feel and Maybe pull some TOS fans into liking E...
Yah, I like the doctor but this sub-plot was so weak and predictable, it demands comparison to Phlox's similar scene from last season... It also reminded me A Lot of the same old sickbay scenes we'd seen in TNG, DS9, and V...

3. "Oh, the cave-climbing scenes were so exciting and realistic!"... Again, B&B can Only excel in the way of special effects and sets... These are "givens" in todays SF market... Too bad they can't do the same with plot, characterization, and dialogue... Maybe it's just me, but I find it rather questionable as to why these inexperienced climbers were thrust into this situation... Surely there are some better trained personnel aboard the ship? I just can't see Kirk and friends getting involved in something like this...

4. Dialogue... High-praise again for Trip's one-liner about threatening to shoot a Denobulan in the ass if he doesn't get moving... Can an episode's Rating ride on a one-liner? This is because in American cinema, one-liner catch phrases are what it's all about... Look how Arnold Schwarzhisname made a living out of em... Kind of reminded me of the trash phrases we got in films like First Contact (Cochrane looking for a tree to take a pee) and Generations (Data's "Shit!")...

And how can Denobulans scurry up solid rock like that? I know I haven't been particularly keen on noticing All the little details...but do these guys have extendible squirrel-claws or something? I just didn't get it...

You hit the nail right on the head. It's amazing to see people give this kind of episode an A or even an A+ based on "how realistic the caves were", "look a Tribble, how cute!", Trip had a cool line, Travis had SOMETHING to do, etc.

Since when did Trek fans become so easily satisfied?

It's telling that this "message episode" dealing with prejudice was actually split 50/50 with another story. Are the Enterprise writers so insure of themselves that they cannot devote entire episode to this issue? My main problem with this part wasn't that it was predictable, but rather unconvicing. There's no way I can see how someone can simply change his mind based upon Phlox' story about his son.

I also fail to see why this episode "is a clear sign that TPTB are turning in an effort to improve the show". This week was OK, next week might suck. I see no correlation.

Anyway, if you want to see a POWERFUL episode about prejudice, that warrants an A or A+, go watch DS9's "Duet"!

BTW the only reason I think it good news is because the fans leaving may help bring quality back to the franchise.
