Done. My TOS DVD’s are now in the trash.
A commentary on the dangers of cult leadership.
I though it was a comment on the dangers of walking barefoot.
Oh yea, Stop patronizing bad Star Trek.
Oh yea, Stop patronizing bad Star Trek.
Very fine episodes, the both of them. Some of my favorite episodes are "The Omega Glory" and "The Royale".
You don’t like it? Don’t watch it.
But telling other people what do to and acting as if your opinion is objective fact is weak sauce indeed.
Yeah, let's get back to classic Roddenberry-inspired morality tales like this one:

Yes, but Spock agreed with them. This is an anti-technology episode. They did one like this on Deep Space Nine.
This is an anti-technology episode.
No. Sevrin was insane, remember? This is an anti-technology episode.
That's what the establishment wants you to believe, man.No. Sevrin was insane, remember?
No it's not.
It's a preposterous piece of tripe written by middle-aged, self-satisfied TV writers taking potshots at a youth culture and movement they just didn't get.
I can't even wrap my head around all the Sherlock Holmes incarnations now. Technically, there's 3 going on at the same time now, & I actually like Holmes almost as much as Star TrekAs noted elsewhere, this is not unique in movies or tv or books or comics. I'm old enough to have lived through at least eight different live-action versions of SUPERMAN, at least five different PLANET OF THE APES timelines, multiple versions of THE MUMMY and ZORRO and TARZAN, etc. So why fret over various different versions of STAR TREK?
It's not craziness and doesn't require elaborate theories involving alien intervention. It's just how popular fiction works. Heck, how many different versions of PETER PAN or NANCY DREW are there?
