Spoilers Gotham - Season 2

Just a heads up: the first installment of an animated comic series, "Gotham Stories," will be shown during next week's X-Files broadcast.

That's all the details I have.

Hopefully her storyline this season will work out better than last. I like the character, but her storyline for the second half of last season was a disaster. Hopefully the fact that she's coming back so late in the season mean they won't have to make up annoying crap to keep her around.

They really had to scramble to last season to come up with a storyline for Fish. I think it was partly because they added more episodes to the season order. I think originally it was just 16 then it was upped to 22. That Fish plot reeked of filler. I'm sure they have a solid plan this time. Hope so anyways.

I don't have anything to back this up but I think they probably didn't plan to go all in as much as they did with this show. Fish was probably originally a safe way to generate plot without having to have all the batsanity but then they just went nuts and created a nutty comic book show that had everything but Batman.

^ Apparently it was on TV last night, though the return was poorly advertised. Like many, I'll be watching it tonight via. "On-Demand".

We've got Mr. Freeze now. It just seems strange having all these Batvillians at large already, 10 years before Bruce is ready to go bats.

At least Mr. Freeze is one of the few that makes sense, as does Penguin. They've often been portrayed as being much older than Bruce. And for a few others like Catwoman and Poison Ivy, I think its fine to show how they might have been as kids, too. I mean, they can't all have waited until adulthood to lose their minds.

That said, the only real injustice for me is that one of the interesting critiques about Batman in the past was that he was actually the reason Gotham became plagued by so many supervillians, so while he may have been the cure, it was for a disease that only existed because of his presence.

In Gotham, however, they're insinuating that the vast majority of them would have come about with or without the Batman. And that just feels kind of "eh" to me, especially since they're effectively turning it around so that Bruce becomes Batman because of the supervillains rather than the other way around.

But then again at least we are getting a decent Batman television series finally, even if Batman isn't really in it. Bruce, sure, but not Batman. It's a shame WB won't get their collective heads out of their asses and realize that have a television series won't ruin a movie's profit margin, even if they're completely separate entities.

I can't believe Bruce and Alfred don't even appear in the mid-season premiere :brickwall: I know it's really Gordon's show but yeesh!

I was really surprised how quickly they went through the Mister Freeze origin story. I expected like four episodes of Victor keeping his experiments a secret from his wife.

That being said, enjoyable episode as always. It's so OTT and cartoonish I can't help but be entertained.

Did you actually read what he wrote?
Yes, did you?

Because he wrote "I was really surprised how quickly they went through the Mister Freeze origin story. I expected like four episodes of Victor keeping his experiments a secret from his wife."

Considering they haven't even touched on his actual origin story yet (he's neither condemned to a life of freezing temperatures, nor is Nora frozen yet), and that it's obviously going to be something that occurs over at least a few episodes, then no: They haven't shown his origin story yet, and it might take four or more episodes to do so. Either way, it's obvious going to be a noteworthy arc for this half of the season at the very least.

The only thing he got right was how quickly Nora discovered the truth of his experiments. But that's not even remotely a key aspect of Freeze's origin story...

I should have watched my tenses: I'm surprised at how quickly they are going through the origin story.

Seems like a good setup with Strange, Oswald and Fries. Not only did Bruce not appear but really even Gordon himself wasn't the focus and maybe for the better.

I hope for the rest of the season Mr. Freeze corrects everyone yelling "It's Frice!".
