Gotham - Season 1

Was it because it Bruceless, and therefore Alfredless?

In the comics, Alfred and Leslie hook up, or at least they suggest that it is happening.

Although this Leslie seems to have been put on the playing board for Jim?

Although, when Essen invites Jim out for a drink, I thought finally!

There's a romantic relationship between Ivy and Harley Quinn in the future, so I wouldn't mind seeing those two cross paths in the present.

The Bruceless and Alfredless didn't help. But it was just a silly plot to begin with that had no where to go, so they had to stretch it as far as they could.

They're setting up for a future payoff.

Stop being greedy.

Did the Asylum governor get lobotomized? New boss next week? New boss every week! Just like in the Prisoner!? Or the Battlestar Pegasus?

The Electrocutioner is going to come back and wreck havoc. Does that mean that Harvey has his own adventures chasing the electrocutioner while Jim is locked away in Arkham, or is the main event waiting till Gordon gets his badge back?

The Electrocutioner's a bit of a misnomer isn't it? After-all, baring the Governor and Guard Goon #2 - who weren't given electroshock - he left all his victims alive.

Then again, it's not like Jack is his real name, we all know it's Hugo.

And how messed up was Babs that she didn't recognise she was speaking to a kid? Ivy has the most childlike voice on the show! Get it together, girl.

Speaking of which, what the hell was Renee thinking?

"Got my rocks off, ohshitbitchiscrazy, better hand her back to Gordon!"

Fuck you, Montoya!

As usual, Harvey saves the day - or at least the episode. He's actually a much better interrogator when he doesn't resort to his fists, good development.

Well, Oswald isn't actually an arctic waterfowl of the family Spheniscidae either.

To be fair, there are some adult women with very girlish voices. Then again, Barbara probably wasn't entirely sober when she made the call.

I was referring to the character's almost spot-on resemblance to another of Bat's rogues.

Then again, I don't even know what the actual Electrocutioner character looks like in the comics, so he could be Hugo Strange's twin brother for all I know.

According to his wiki, looks like the Arkham boss actually survived.

Fair enough, it's just one of those malapropisms that literally makes my blood boil. ;)

Messed up is how I'd describe a very drunk person. Perhaps I should have gone with shitfaced? :)

According to the image search I did last night, comics Electrocutioner looks nothing like the TV version...he's more of a big, beefy thug type. I think you may be onto something, because Christopher Heyerdahl is definitely better cast as Hugo Strange. For those not in the know, he plays a very entertainingly twisted regular antagonist on AMC's Hell on Wheels.

Or he played Jack the Ripper and a Yeti Butler on Sanctuary.

In the scenes he shared with himself, the hate they had for eachself was palpable.

He seems to be typecast as these psycho types. Even on Canadian kids shows like "The Haunting Hour" he plays bad guys.

Well he's played plenty of unremarkable good guys in the past like on Stargate Atlantis and Chronicles Of Riddick.

I'm not a fan of police procedural type shows, and overall the show's boring me. But I stick around to watch Bruce and Alfred's relationship grow. During my lifelong Batman obsession, it's one thing that I've always wanted to learn more about.

I have to say that is probably the best part of the show. I am really enjoying it.

Funny how different people see different things. Bruce is my least favorite part of the show though ostensibly he should be one of the highlights.
