Salt Creature? Solid A grade. Retains the icky factor and the sad look from the original.

Gorn........

That is a freaking disaster.

Yeah, seriously. I thought the Enterprise CGI-version from "In a Mirror, Darkly" was bad, but this is just abysmal.

The Salt Creature isn't bad.

In the 'Art of' book, it is identified as "This Proteus lizard creature inspired by Gorn..." not as just a Gorn

Can't watch the video here for some reason. Love the salt creature pic. I'm apprehensive about the Gorn. I thought that the Gorn and Tholians in Enterprise sucked. I expect better if either turns up in nu-Trek-land.

I thought the Tholian looked pretty good. The Gorn...not so much. It didn't mesh well with the live action.

That doesn't make any sense at all. If they were inspired by a Rhino or a mix between a lizard and a triceratops, I would understand the idea of 'inspiration'. But I have to ask. What's the point? They're drawing inspiration from Star Trek when they're making STAR TREK!

Why shouldn't it be a Gorn? Gorns are a part of Star Trek. Don't use them as "Inspirationg", USE THEM!

4-hour eyebrows, every day. per Romulan. whew.

It looked painful, too. (Or were they poking those into a prosthetic the person was wearing? Still, it looked painful.)

But attention to details does pay off. Walking out of the theater the first time I saw it, it was remarkable how many people were buzzing about how great the Romulans' eyebrows looked. It made the movie for them. ;)

Isn't this entire movie inspired by Star Trek (the TV series)?
