I'm 30 years old, to me a woman in her 40s *is* "older."

I said that and I'm surprised that a couple of people thought that my comment was offensive. Here's what I also said to clarify the matter...

If I ever passed her on the street and didn't know who she was, I wouldn't have guessed that she was 31. She still looks and sounds more "girlish" than womanly. Some people, both men and women are more mature-looking and some aren't. She's one of those who isn't.
