I remember reading that that was a technical goof having the phasers fire out of the pylons. In BOBW2 the same shot is used WITHOUT the pylon phasers.

I remember reading that that was a technical goof having the phasers fire out of the pylons. In BOBW2 the same shot is used WITHOUT the pylon phasers.
I think an intricate part of a "battle" scene also involves both dialogue and also photography/scene setup.
My favorite two:
1) Yesterday's Enterprise - We see picard say "That'll be the day" when the Klingon's request surrender. He also jumps over to man the weapons stations and we see him work the controls. Nice!
2) Best of Both Worlds 2 - After Worf and Data bring Picard back to the ship, the camera focuses in on Riker who slowly develops this "smirk" on his face. At that moment, you know everybody watching is saying "hahaha gotcha!"
