...Ralph Vaughn Williams.
About a year ago on a local classical FM station, the DJ talked about Goldsmith's Klingon Theme (first heard in TMP) and how similar it was to the fast movement of a Ralph Vaughn Williams symphony. He played snippets of both back-to-back and the similarity was uncanny. I would say Goldsmith was paying homage to Vaughn Williams, and not outright copying.
I thought it was the 5th Symphony, but I finally got an SACD of same, and it's not the right one. Does anyone know which Vaughn Williams symphony it was?
BTW, I can't remember which DJ it was, otherwise I'd contact the station and ask him.
Thanks,
Doug
