GoldenEye 007 Game Question

My boyfriend has been playing through the game lately and recently unlocked the Aztec level. Now, I thought you had to beat all the other levels on Secret Agent difficulty to unlock the Aztec level. However, there are about 3 or 4 levels he has not completed on Secret Agent. So why did the level show up? It happened when he beat the Cradle level.

I think you can unlock the level with a cheat code. Are you sure your boyfriend didn't unlock it that way?

I once accidentally ran over my copy of GoldenEye (long story) and unlocked all the secret levels that way.

C'mon...fess up...it's for you right?:p

A buddy found a copy of Goldeneye in a snowbank (weird) that had all codes unlocked. Double guns and everything! Brings back memeories of playing that level where you're out in Siberia and I'd get ona watchtower and see how many soldiers I could kill. Jeez.

I wanted to ban Oddjob until one of my friends pointed out that, if you kneel, it's a head shot on him.

Ahhh, GoldenEye. It was the best back in 1998 (has it really been that long?) and no any first person shooter has come close to it - not even the original Perfect Dark.

I was desperately trying to unlock the unlimited ammo cheat. I think you neeed to clear the 'Control' level in about 20 minutes on Secret Agent. Man, was that difficult. The hardest part was keeping Natalia alive while she hacked into the computer mainframe. My clear time on that was something like 19:99. I must've tried that close to 100 times before finally getting it.

Oh, God, was that level hard or what? Absolutely infuriating.

 Nah, it really is my boyfriend playing it (though the game and console belong to me).

So can you guys confirm that the Aztec level is supposed to show up only when you've beaten the other levels on Secret Agent (or used a cheat code obviously)?

^ Yeah. Also, I think to get access to Egyptian you have to have finished everything else on 00 Agent.

Goldeneye was released in 1997. :)

Outside Perfect Dark, Monolith's No One Lives Forever for PC offers the closest experience to Goldeneye of any FPS I've played since, only with more humour. I wish Monolith were presently developing NOLF3 instead of the abysmally titled Project Origin. :(
