Going to AMERICA!!! :) :) Your holiday plans?

I'm going to America!

Well folks, it's all planned out-- I got enough saved up (both money and vacation) to take 3 weeks in America for Christmas!!! I can't wait. Finally back to the States for some much needed family and friend time. This will be my first time home in a year so I'm kind of on cloud nine about getting it all worked out.

What do you have on the list for the winter holidays? Family? Friends? Travel? Work? :/ --- Are you excited? What's your holiday bag, yo!

Enjoy your time in our country, and take a little advice - stick to the coasts, and stay out of the middle. Enjoy!

Impromptu DC meetup?

I don't have much plans except to just destress and prepare for the new year. I have 6 days off over the rest of the month and I am going to enjoy them.

My last day at NASA TV will be my birthday, December 16.

For the record, if you're looking for a good present; iPad or skinny tie.

After my final work day...I'm to report to DC's Union Station for a weekend birthday getaway to New York City. It was supposed to be a surprise by my girl left a copy of the itinerary on the printer and I saw it. It's her fault. She knows it. I'm return to DC on the 19th.

On the 20th I drive to Tennessee for Christmas with the fam. The fiancee flies down the 23rd. We drink and revel. After Jesusday I help my brother finalize my grandmother's house for auction. I return to DC around the 2nd and start my new career on the 3rd.

Ah interesting, I'll actually be in NYC at the same time as you-- Squiggy (going for a few days... namely for Lombardi's Pizza and The Book of Mormon).

A friend of mine saw Book of Mormon, said that it was amazing.

This Christmas will be the first ever which I don't spend with my family. Going to be with the GF's family instead. But then we will be heading to my family for New Years.

My sister got engaged a few weeks ago, so I'm flying back home to DC to celebrate and spend time with my family, see friends, etc.

Let me know if this happens; I'm going to be in town between 12/30 through 1/3 and would love to see all of you, and meet the rest of you for the first time!

Working overnight over Christmas, but shall steal some time in January. I feel very much like an impulsive overseas holiday.

I've got 11 days off and tickets to the Ravens game on xmas eve.

Xmas day, I'll probably cook up my traditional xmas day Mexican feast and watch holiday episodes of TV shows or something. The rest of the holiday week is reserved for drinking, sleeping, and probably a meal of some sort with my dad thrown in for good measure.

New Years is a friend's 30th birthday, so there's a big dressy cocktail-y blow-out planned for that, culminating in a boozy Ravens regular season finale brunch on the 1st. :techman:

Then I start preparing for the real holidays.

My work schedule is a little wonky this year. Friday 12/23 is a company holiday so I get the day off. However, I normally work weekends so I will have to go back to work on Saturday 12/24. I don't have to work on Christmas day and I am on-call Monday 12/26. Then 12/27-12/28 are my regularly scheduled days off. Assuming Christmas Eve is quiet and there are no incompetent people or emergencies on the 26th, I will manage to get a decent break. However, I'm not holding my breath on that one.

I suspect my plans on Christmas Day will be about the same as years' past. Only this time I will go to great lengths to minimize my time with the family and find cooler people to hang out with for much of the day (I'm really tired of my family... sounds awful but is true).

Will send a few days with mum around Christmas time, and on Thursday will flying down to Melbourne for my brother's wedding and family time also.

We were going to drive down to Harrisonburg, VA but the Charleston,SC contingent cannot make it up. So, hopefully it will be a quiet Christmas at home here in PA with day trips to friends and relatives.
