Godzilla, Kong, Gamera & Co.: The Kaiju Mega-Thread

There is definitely a lot of slow mo in Sucker Punch, which was an original creation of Snyder's, so  As for the martha thing, for the way it was used its a lot stupider then pretty much anything in other comic book movies. The Hallie Berry Catwoman getting magic cat powers and even acting like a cat was less stupid then "Martha".

But, this thread doesn't need to turn into a Snyder discussion thread, so I'll just say I stand by him being a terrible choice for a Godzilla/kaiju film, at least in my opinion.

I can’t believe people are still moaning about the Martha thing. There have been way more ridiculous things in comic movies than that. :)

The fact that the world is already full of ridiculous things is not a reason to settle for ridiculousness. On the contrary, it's a reason to demand better.

For a bit of fun, here is Godzilla über fan and occasional artist of licenced comics Matt Frank pumping up a vintage inflatable Godzilla:

Honestly, the best Godzilla movies (and series) are as much or more about the characters as about Godzilla. It's just a question of when the characters are interesting versus when they aren't.
That’s only been the case with the first movie.
They’re going to Need one big name for this show. Charles Dance perhaps?

I haven't heard of any of them, but perhaps this franchise will finally have an installment without an unnecessary white male lead.

I think there's a good chance of that. The feature industry seems to lag well behind other media when it comes to representation. And the MonsterVerse tie-in comics all centered on nonwhite or female leads, aside from the one told entirely from Godzilla's own POV.

I don’t really care about the humans of the show. :)
You're probably not going to like the show then, because I have a feeling this is going to be focused almost entirely on the humans with only a little bit of monster action. Even with as far as TV effects have gone the last few years, I doubt they're going to be able to give us as the kind Kaiju action we've been getting in the movies.
