GODZILLA FX shots

Yeah, I know, its just a guy in a rubber suit. But some of their matte shots, IMO, were better than some American movie matte shots..

I think its in Godzilla vs Ghidora (the one where the dudes from the future try to alter the past) and it was made in the mid 90s, but there is this shot where it shows Godzilla walking through an aread with a heard of cattle near by. It lookd real..as did this shot when he came out of the ocean and people are looking from a hill side. Great job..

And the battle between Godzilla/Ghidora/Rodan, in the center of japan, with all those skyscrapers? I thought the model work on those skyscrapers was brilliant...

As for old school godzilla FX shots? I always liked the one when, in Godzilla vs the Thing, and Godzilla first comes out of that field where everyone is looking? For a movie made in 1962, I thought it was a very good shot..

what about you, my Godzilla fan/friends, what are some of your favorite Godzilla FX shots?

Rob

The fight between Godzilla and the X-1 in Godzilla 1985. I remember that looking really cool.

Oh yeah, I do too. It was the first Godzilla movie, I think, since the TERROR OF MECHAGODZILLA. I actually remember seeing G85 at the theatre. I thought it was kind of slow, but the new Godzilla suit, and that automated head they used in some shots, was pretty cool.

Godzilla emerging from the sand and the two Mothra babies cocooning big G in the original "Mothra vs. Godzilla".

yep^^ that field shot is the one I was thinking of and that cocooning fx was great too...but godzilla must have been rusty. I still understand him losing to those two baby larva...on way ....

LIke the Godzilla films havent seen them in awhile as I've only got em on vhs with the player buried under a load of DVDS. might have to buy them on DVD if they are sold on em.
