Though I do wonder what they mean by: "The exterior had to remain the same..."

I thought the general rule with dirigibles -- or was it just the Zeppelin  -- is that the ship remains the same. Not sure if that applies to starships.

There is a god, and his name is John Bonham!

What's with this newfangled shotgun talk? Something wrong with the old school approach? (Torches and pitchforks.)

If I see disgruntled Trekkies wielding anything but torches and pitchforks, I'm boycotting the boycott...

With his proven track record, it's a safe bet to make that Giacchino will be giving us one of the best Star Trek film scores to date.
Agreed. IMHO his Lost score is one of the best parts of the show, he does an amazing job of bringing across the mood and atmosphere of every scene. But then again I could be biased since Lost is one of my all time favorite shows.

I don't see how saying it is a remake is going to reveal too much of the plot of the movie.

I disagree. If they announced it is a remake, we would all -- instantly -- know the plot of this film.

How so?

This is the route I figure they would go. The exterior of the Enterprise is pretty iconic. I would have been surprised had they radically changed it. It's too easy to turn into a toy or posterize in its classic form. The bridge, and other interiors...does it really matter? I expect it'll have a Captain's chair, different stations, and a view screen. Oh yeah, and a turbolift door.

So much for these guys being more faithful then anyone us realized, or whatever the exact words Orci used. He's a real piece of work.

Oh man... he said: "The designs are more faithful then you might imagine" not that there wouldn't be any changes at all infact, implied in that statement is "Yes they're similar but different". He's not trying to rape your childhood.

He wasn't being deceptive or trying to trick you though you might presume otherwise.

I'd like to see some really large rooms on board the ship. Some real sense of the scale of the thing.
If they keep the ship the same size (950' long, more or less), then there shouldn't be very many large scale spaces on board.

I'd be more concerned about what the person says about green screen. Not that they're using it, but the fact that they're using it for stuff that at least this guy thinks they could have done practically. What does that really mean? Who knows.

But, it could mean that they're using way too much green screen that they have to.
