What does the board think woulda happened to Worf (from SF) if he'd taken up Gowron's position right then right there?

He'd firstly have to leave Starfleet and would certainly lose a lot of the respect he had earned. Then, he may have been killed when Gowron/Martok attacked DS9.

yeah, the unintended consequence of his going with Gowron would be that in a short period of time he would have had to fight the federation. It would have been one thing to go fight with gowron but then a whole other choice to have to fight starfleet. I doubt he would have chosen to do so...

Any chance he could have influenced Gowron, countering Martok/Changeling's "words of widsom?" :klingon:

It's an intriguing idea. But unlike when Worf joined Gowron in the Klingon civil war, he would have been in conflict with Starfleet as well, and as a by-the-book officer and uber-Klingon, that would've been a greater conflict for him. I also don't think Worf's counsel would've dissauded Gowron from his actions, as he was more concerned with self-aggrandizement through warfare. And the changeling Martok fed into that with its advice. -- RR

Worf would have been considered AWOL.

Sisko would still have gone after the Cardassian government, resulting in a confrontation at DS9. If Worf couldn't have talked Gowron out of fighting, he'd probably be considered an outright traitor. When the Federation and Klingons make nice again (assuming Worf doesn't get killed or replaced by a changeling by then), the Federation would probably demand his extradition. Gowron will agree because it's politically convenient and he's a snake, and Worf would spend the rest of his life luxuriating in prison.

That's my guess, anyway.

I think Gowron would have challenged him to combat right then and there honestly. I wonder if they would have made Worf Chancellor then too?

Still woulda been a cool twist. Worf goes and fight in Cardassssiaaaaa, gets captured and replaced by a Founder. Sifts real Worf's mind for SF vunerabilities and tells changleing Martok and Gowron. Real Worf gets free and attempts to stop his counter part

Lets see, he would have been considered AWOL, lose his commision, mabey lost his life either during the attack on Cardassia/or on DS-9,lose his honor and self respect, get Benjamine really pissed off and miss out on his marrage to Jadzia. Gowron tried to blackmail him into becoming a traitor and that is not honorable to do anyway, some Klingon  I think that he made the right decision, Today was not a good day to Die...
