Glee: Season 3 Discussion/Premiere preview clip

They were just trying to fit in.

And speaking of fitting things in ... Holy fuck, Chewbacca in Glee? Star Wars Holiday Special and Glee? Fangasm all over the living room!

I really liked that episode last night. It felt like a holiday special, and I was really happy and smiling after it ended. The music was great, the black and white stuff was fantastically corney, and just everything about it made me really enjoy it. Also loved some of the call backs at the beginning, like whatever happen to Arties Legs, and Kurt's reaction when Damian said his song was in tribute to the King. Still, it wasn't part of any of the storylines, but it was still one of the better episodes of the season.

As for the Jewish fitting in on Christmas thing, I think there's really only one show who has been able to successfully address that whole thing, and that was South Park in it's First season. I didn't think about it too much, even though I did hear a Happy Hanukkah in there at the end.

Rachel is adopted.

Are we sure that they are Jewish?

They could just be honouring their daughters heritage?

Rachel is not adopted. One of her two Gay Dads is her biologic father. They mixed their sperm in a petrie dish and then used the mixture to impregnate Shelby.

Yeah, maybe Rachel considers herself 'half' Jewish, perhaps her other father is Christian or at least celebrates Christmas. Puck may have helped with the song just to give Finn a hand (and his voice did work well for the song he sang, they should do more Springsteen!).

I have to say I'm really glad they've brought Darren Criss on full time this season. He's been a great addition to the cast and he's a better lead male vocalist than Corey (and actor for that matter).

I agree he's a better singer, but no way is he a better actor. Cory Monteith is one of the best actors on the show (though the material he gets rarely gives him the opportunity to show it); Darren Criss is frequently out of his depth in scenes with Chris Colfer and Lea Michele. Some of his acting is really bad.

Anyone watch tonight?

As much as the show has been far below par since like Season 1 (save for the odd episode here and there), I have to say this was a pretty damn good episode. It's been a while since I enjoyed the show this much and it reminded me of first half of Season 1 quality. Reminded me why I enjoyed the show in the first place.

They sang "Ben." Cool.

Without a doubt, the prettiest song ever written about a murderous, man-eating rat . . . .

Loved Smooth Criminal, Human Nature (even though I hate "trouty mouth's" singing) and "Black or White".

Did I miss "Man in the Mirror"? I thought "Dirty Diana" would have been a good fit also and "The Way You Make Me Feel", but alas, only 42 minutes.

Pretty good MJ tribute episode.. Glee is always good when they do tributes and i rank the Madonna and Britney Spears episodes as amongst the best.

Personally enjoyed Smooth Criminal and Wanna be startin' something as best with a close Scream (that one threw me for a loop and i'm glad they use Harry Shum for more than a dance muppet.. even though he's not the best singer he actually performs quite well in certain songs).

Also really liked how they got their revenge on evil gay guy (don't care so much about him to even remember his name).. i'm a big fan of the Warblers and their style since season 2 and it bugged me that they'd follow such an ass but the guys and girls fixed that for good in a classy way.

Glee is improving currently.. season 3 start was lacklustre for the most part and i almost quit but the last few episodes got me back. It's still far away from the awesomeness that was season 1 but that'll be very hard to achieve again.

I think the only thing I didn't like about this episode was the Warblers being the evil glee club. It's so strange and crazy to see them be that way following that asshole after last year having them be some of the best that Season 2 had to offer. I really liked the ending, especially Artie's "Now get out of my Auditorium". Classic Artie.

Great episode tonight. Loved the music (Never even heard Scream before) and this episode must of cost a lot because the special effects were really well done. It also did a good job moving the various plots forward, and I actually didn't miss Sue this week. One other thing, I don't think I've seen cellos rocking out as much as I did in this episode. Man the two guys who place the cellos were really amazing.

Overall, ever since the Sectionals episode, Glee has been improving significantly. I kind of had a feeling it would since the Sectionals episode wiped every slate clean to an extent and I've really been liking this half of the season. Hope they keep this momentum going and I can safely say again I'm looking forward to the new episode next week.

For more on the cello players, look up "2cellos" on youtube for a ton of their material. I actually prefer their instrumental version of Smooth criminal, which was adapted into this episode. :-)

And it looks like they're beginning to tie up loose ends. Rachel, Kurt, Finn and Satana are all confirmed for next year, even though they'll be graduating. I don't expect to see Quinn though, as her story was tied up with a nice bow. I'm conflicted with that since the writers really destroyed her character arc. All the beats made sense, but most of the time it was dealt with in a very ham-fisted manner. But I do love Dianna Agron. She always played the role much better than the writing allowed her.

Does being a finalist to NYADA mean they got accepted, or just made it to the next round? Artie was great, and CC really let me learn the damn lyrics! Gotta love CC!

I have a question. What does LAMFO (Or whatever they're called) and "Sexy and I know it" have to do with Latin? I ask because they were talking about Latin songs this week and then they put in this crap song and I saw it was just an excuse to have Ricky Martin sing this crap song.

I'm sorry but the more I think about this episode, the more I didn't like it. Yeah there were some good bits (The stuff with Emma for the most part) but other than that, after two good weeks in a row, this one felt like a dud. Hopefully next week will be better.

Sorry, I was too busy enjoying "Smash". ;)

Still, "Michael" was quite enjoyable and this week's was okay. I don't think Martinez's song was latino per se because after all it wasn't his assignment. He was just playing the sexy latino stud singing a sexy song. And why didn't Santana shoot down THAT stereotype?

It was great seeing the teachers' stories a little, since the kids' stories have been pretty dull this year IMO.. Look! We're giving people co-star billing and pay to have them sway in the background and lip sync to other peoples' words!

Why am I currently more interested in Coach, Emma, and Burt? Tired of Will. Really like Coach Bieste.
