Glee: Season 3 Discussion/Premiere preview clip

Since what you know about the show seems to come from secondhand sources, how would you know?
What exactly makes you say that?

It's not my fault you don't remember the scenes with Kristin Chenoweth or Puck's activities since the very first season (when he would have been 14-15).

Talk about wallowing in ignorance.

Pedophilia pretty much equals liking someone under the age of 18 to most people in the US.

I don't know if I would say "most" people but, yeah, there are far too many who don't understand the term. It's part of the reason we have idiocy like eighteen year old kids being branded lifetime sex offenders for having relations with their sixteen year old girlfriends/boyfriends.

Yeah, I did forget that one. So that's it? One episode?

And ignorance rears its ugly head again.

No, it's been multiple episodes, from every season. Hence the last part of the quote. You know, the part after the word "or."

Enlighten me. I await more examples of older women having orgies with the football team, statutory rape and teacher fucking.

For what its worth the age of consent in Ohio is 16. Puck would have been 16 at the start of season one, since he is 18 at the start of season three. I'd have to assume Puck had to repeat a grade or started school late since most students are 17 at the start of senior year. Looks like Puck's clients might be off the hook.

Just to nitpick

Brittany and Santana have kissed (maybe even more.. it's been hinted at) in a season 2 episode i think when they had a scene in bed together (they were clothed) which showed them making out (way before her coming out as "pure" lesbian instead of being Bisexual).
No, they haven't kissed. Duets featured Santana sort of kissing Brittany's neck (much like this episode had Santana, behind Jacob's head, briefly giving Brittany a peck on the cheek). They have never kissed each other, unlike every other couple on the show (all of whom kissed in the episode they got together), and for a show that talks up how big it is for gay rights, it's an inexcusable double-standard.
They have fulled around, but they aren't dating. That's what Santana wants but it has never developed, though Brittiny has given Santana lots of hints that she would certainly consider it.

As for age of consent the only time it has really been broached is when the Gap guy mentioned that it's a crime for them if they did anything, in reference to Blaine. Which holds with Blaine being younger then Kurt.

Apart from Sugar, the other TT girls all appear to be Cheerios, so I'm assuming that cheer captain Santana and President Brittany are pulling some strings in that regard.
So how did New Directions make up for the people they lost?

Just like in season one all they need to do is get a couple warm bodies for the back ground. All I can say is it isn't ignored by the writers (which actually surprises me).

Well, Puck did tell that one opposing football player that he (Puck) slept with the guy’s mother after cleaning her pool (an interesting euphemism). The guy didn’t believe Puck until Puck commented on the “Star Wars bedsheets,” at which time, the guy’s reaction proved the truth of the issue. Gotta admit, I laughed at that.

You're healthy if, as a boy, you want to sleep with your friends fit parents.

You're adventurous if you actually try.

And they're drunk, depressed or amoral if they actually take you up on it.

So one of the songs in tonight's episode is Red Solo Cup, which right now is Toby Keith's brand new song. Is this a record for the show to get a song that is pretty much fresh out of the box into the show in such a short time? As for the song, I hate it, but it could be fun on Glee. I am also surprised that with tonight being the sectionals episode, there are only four songs.

Anyone wondering when “Rory’s 7 episode storyline arc” will start? Aside from a couple of songs, he’s now relegated to listening to others sing. Not a problem. The whole show is sliding.

Where Sue was amusing and/or funny before, now she’s an annoying bitch. She mistreats people left and right, threatens them--with apparent intent on carrying out many of the threats--but when reality hits, she’s all apologetic. I’m referring to Santana in particular. Sue bitched all about her, was ready to use anyone to further herself politically, but when her opponent says he’s outing Santana, Sue turns to mush. Geez! That kinda heel-turn is not realistic even for a tv character.

Maybe the show was just something that started so high, it really had nowhere to go but down.

Yeah, she's really all over the place. Lots of shows have taken their most villainous character and softened them up to be more of a regular. (Spike on Buffy the Vampire Slayer comes instantly to mind.) That happened really early with Sue. Then it seemed like the writers regretted that, so they started really backpedaling with her, and it doesn't work. She's had so many extra, sympathetic layers added to the character that it doesn't make sense for her to be such a raging supervillain anymore. There are too many instances where she'll go for over-the-top villainy when previous episodes indicate that she should certainly know better by now. They need to tone it down; make her well-meaning but inadvertantly rude & tactless in an ultimately harmless way (like Spike or Cordelia during their later seasons on Buffy or Rimmer on Red Dwarf).
