Ginger complaints

The new Doctor might have just uttered a few words so far, but his remark about still not being ginger has proved controversial with many grasping the wrong end of the stick. Perhaps egged on by comments in several newspapers, the BBC has received 143 complaints about the line, forcing the corporation to put out a statement clarifying that the Doctor was disappointed not to be ginger.

We would like to reassure viewers that Doctor Who doesn't have an anti ginger agenda whatsoever. This was a reprise of the line in the Christmas Invasion episode in 2005, when David Tennant discovers that he's not ginger, and here he is, missing out again - disappointed he's still not ginger.

In addition, the Doctor's previous companion Donna Noble (Catherine Tate) and his new one Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) are both redheads.

So anyone want to bet Doctor #12 will be ginger and have a 6th doctor temper?

Will have to see how Smith portrays the doctor but I don't see his Doctor strangling Amy.

I think it's going to be time for a nasty doctor when it comes to Doctor 12.

Plus there's the inevitable Valeyard.

there seems to be alot of people who totally misunderstood the Doctors comment, to think that Doctor Who has an anti ginger agenda, is totally ridiculous.

Bob the Skutter watching the video did make me realise Ginger is an anagram of Nigger.

What do real Ginger people make of people like me who when they dont shave get ginger hair on there face? but not anywhere else

Are there hordes of angry girls out there too because 11 seemed to express relief that he wasn't a girl?

This is all pretty stupid. And to think, you all were once sailing around the world busy ruling it... pity. ;)

Well I suppose these people have no real worries, so that's the kind of thing they focus on. I envy them, actually.
The idea that if you have no 'real worries' it's okay to start writing in and complaining about innocuous remarks on a kid's TV show is nonce sense.

Basically you're talking about a bunch of Dail Mail/Murdoch loving right-wing nutters who take any excuse to attack the BBC and whose ultimate wish would be to destroy the Corporation.

What kind of idiot could possibly misintepret that line anyway, let alone complain about it? Gods alive, is this what happens when everyone's stuck inside because of the horrifying, country-crippling inch of snow on their doorstep?

So Who encourages homosexuality and derides ginger people in the same ten minutes? New record, surely?

If these people actually have real problems and still they write letters to the BBC to complain about a throwaway phrase on an all-age show, it's even scarier. It's even worse when you remember that they didn't even understand the throwaway phrase!

This is a good point actually, I've noticed since you became the world's greatest superpower that none of your countrymen have ever said or done anything stupid ever.
