Ginger complaints

I want to live in a world where a line from a tv show is the only thing I have to complain about. Thesepeople really need a good Gibbs headsmack.

Could be worse though. If a few people complain in the US a studio usually trips over itself to delete the line. And the FCC often gets involved.

Does the FCC serve any purpose, apart from destroying entertainment?

Making sure that stations don't try to broadcast on the same frequencies. Making sure that commercial electronics doesn't interfere with signals like police band communications and emergency response radio frequencies and whatnot.

The F.C.C. performs important logistics functions, but I tend to agree that its rules about "morality" on TV are absurd.

Did these people even watch the same scene as I did?

Matt Smith's Doctor was disappointed that he still wasn't ginger. So WTF are these morons complaining about?!

do the FCC have an authority over Doctor Who? ok it could fine BBCAm, but it cant fine BBC Wales.

They can force edits though, same with external programmes shown on the BBC or other British Broadcasters.

lets hope the US does not have a pro Ginger movement, who might contact the FCC then.

I am currently thinking of retraining to be a "Ginger Equality Officer" someone who promotes the equality of Gingers etc etc

All the gingers I've ever met have either been supersexy or really unattractive.

I've never met any "ordinary" ginger people.

The Ginger gene must be linked to the Sexy gene, both when dominant or recessive.

Hear hear. If they stuck to the logistics, things would be better off. No one has ever provided me with a clear example of how a "morality-based" ruling by the FCC or its Canadian equivalent the CRTC have actually improved anyone's lives.

One of my friends winds me up by asking why all the women I fancy are redheads, but the unattracrtive ones and blokes are all ginger

I don't know if anyone else has suggested this, but might the original reference in The Christmas Invasion have been a dig at Billie Piper? Was she still with Chris Evans at the time it was written? I know they broke up some time around the making of her first series with the show.

Just a thought!

Unlikely given that Pipe and Evans are great friends and there was no animosity over their divorce. She and Evans split up a year or two before the new series started as well. I think it was just a throwaway line that caused way more consternation than was ever planned!

^ Oh, I know they're great friends. I was reading an interview with her yesterday when she talked about him visiting her after the birth of her child (with her new husband).

He was on the news all weekend too, with replacing Wogan on Radio 2, so they were in my head. But are you sure they broke up before the series? I thought I read an interview with Evans where he blamed the work pressures of the first season of DW for breaking up the marriage. Wasn't she linked with Eccleston (almost certainly without foundation) in the tabloids during the break up?

Well I'm not certain but I thought they broke up before her acting career started properly. I wonder if any male/female combo have ever gone without some rumours of involvement.

When Nanny Ogg's cat, Greebo, was transformed into a Human in Witches Abroad, he was disappointed that he wasn't ginger.

I'll always assume the Doctor's desire to be ginger is a direct homage to that, facts be damned.
