Ghostbusters 2016: Talk about the movie(s).

Basically imagine this lot following you around everywhere you go 24/7. I think most people would get pissed off and snap a lot sooner than this. Hell, it often seems like a fair proportion of people on the net only need a single message they don't like to set them off on a rant.

Pretty much, and it doesn't help that a lot of the vocal opposition to this movie is coming from people who are pissed off at the simple fact that the starring cast members don't have testicles.

Wait they don't?! I guess it will take another 20 years of progress before we get that Trans-gendered Ghosbusters reboot.

I think believing Rick Moranis to be simply retired was more comforting than being assured he turned it down because he felt it wasn't worth doing. :borg:

I'm surprised they even approached him, considering he turned down the video game a few years ago.

I am disappointed Rick Moranis won't be in it, but I can kind of understand him not wanting to do it. Not everybody likes to go back to something they've already moved on from.

I hope there's going to be more to the movie than a drinking game based on spot the cameo.

As I've said a couple of times in this thread, anyone doubting Paul Feig's comedy bona fides after legit classics like Freaks & Geeks, Bridesmaids and Spy needs to give themselves a check-up from the neck up.

I agree to a point. But there is the chance that so many cameos could pull some folks out of the movie.

Of course it's going to be funny. Feig aside (and he is good at this), this film has some of the funniest women in television. I have no doubt that at some point during the film, I'm going to be laughing too hard to breathe.

For a reboot it is quiet heavy on Cameos. I'd rather judge the film on it's own merits rather than be reminded how great (or better) the 80s movie was.

I think that was inevitable when they, ya know, remade a classic movie from the 80s...
Really? Other movie remakes seem to be a little more restrained.

The new Robocop was the height of restraint.
As was the new Karate Kid.
Total Recall was nothing short of a mote of subtlety.
I couldn't tell the difference between the original and remake of Alice in Wonderland.

This is sarcasm.

I was trying to suggest that a remake might not be the best vehicle to not be reminded of its predecessor.

Agreed that is a great picture. Anybody have any estimates for when we might get a trailer? We seem to be getting some of next year's big movies' trailers now.
