Send them to US soldiers deployed away from home: Books For Soldiers. That's what I did when I moved and wanted to unload a vast library of ST paperbacks.

I recently sent a bunch of comics and magazines to Books for Soldiers, and got a letter back from a med tech saying how much they all enjoyed the materials, especially the geeky stuff!
You can send stuff pretty cheap with flat rate boxes or envelopes, where you can stuff it with as much as you can fit in it.
