get off michelle Obama

Of course the Republicans and tea baggers are getting their adult diapers in a bunch, just becuase Michelle Obama wants a new generation of kids to grow to full potential and be healthy. Give the first lady a break all she did was start a program that basically says be a fucking parent, stop trying to be a friend becuase your afraid your kid will leave you. Get his or her ass off the computer, the game systems. Feed them less processed foods and more veggies. I know there is some out there that will say its up to the parent, its not the governments job to control the kids. Well you know what, just like a country who hates its leader, sometimes leader(Parents) can be really stupid and not have the best values. Hey if your one of those people, let your kid become fat. They will likely not leave the house, they will likely not pass on the family name, and they will likely die at 40. Good luck.

Do you really think anyone who is making bad parenting choices is going to listen to some government program and change what they do? Buy more vegies, drag the kids off the computer? Nope.

Dear First Lady, why do you hate America?

ps please stop trying to take away my freedoms.

I seriously think one or both Obama's should speak out against suicide. See what happens.

"Fuck you Obama! You can't tell me what to do you son of a bitch! *gunshot*"

Yes, we definitely need to accelerate our progress towards an oppressive nanny state. (just to be clear, that was sarcasm)

Normally I'd take such a ridiculous comment as an obvious joke, but you said something equally bizarre in the other thread and have expressed similar off-the-wall political beliefs in the past. The hating America part is not even worth dignifying with a discussion, so, instead I'll just ask you to explain how Michelle Obama is taking away your freedoms.

I don't know what she's doing exactly but I feel these sort of health campaigns are pretty useless. Like who listens to recommendations to exercise an hour a day or eat food pyramids.

This thread title made me think of the 'Leave Britney Alone!!!!' YouTube video.

But whatever. This country is so polarized that if Michelle Obama stated that murder was wrong, the Republicans would find a way to go after her (and her husband) for saying it.

Glenn Beck and Hannity would spend countless on-air hours dissecting her tone, her inflection, her choice of vocabulary...and after 'careful analysis' (plus a few lamely crafted parallels to NAZI GERMANY drawn) would determine that there was some other message there that was anti-American and evil. And the Sheep who listen to them would actually BELIEVE the fuckers.

Welcome to the USA. Please check your common sense at the door.

Michelle Obama is a plastic person, trying to act like a supermodel instead of a government official. Same goes for Obama.

For one example, there was a direct correlation between the first surgeon general's report on smoking in 1964 and the subsequent decline of cigarette use that continued through to today with follow-up programs. So yes, government health education (and related) programs can succeed.

Researchers conducted separate analyses of smoking patterns in California because the state has consistently led the U.S. in initiating public policies to reduce cigarette smoking since the surgeon general's report on smoking was released.

The results showed 23.2% of adults in California and 22.9% of adults in the rest of the U.S. were classified as heavy smokers in 1965.

By 2007, this prevalence dropped to 2.6% of adults in California and 7.2% of adults in the remaining states.

At least your user name is consistent with the content of your posts. Being First Lady alone does not make one a government official. Besides which, what does any of that have to do with the topic? She's a "plastic person" trying to be a "supermodel" because she recommends exercise programs for kids?

And how in the hell is President Obama trying to be a supermodel? What does any of that even mean? It's fine to be critical of the Obama administration, but this and the comments I quoted earlier are the type of crazy shit that makes people think it's just opposition for opposition's sake, and not worthy of serious consideration.

What is she doing specifically?

Pretty much just telling kids to exercise.

When I was a kid Arnold Schwarzenegger was doing pretty much the exact same thing and I don't remember anyone complaining about that.

But what do I know. Maybe there's some reason Michelle can't say the same things Arnold did.

That would be the same reason that Bill Clinton can get a blow job from another consenting adult and as a result, get the full court press, up to and including impeachment, for 4 solid YEARS...while Newt Gingrich can have identical affairs on his dying wife while in office and, only a few years later, be picking out campaign headquarters with his entourage here in Cobb Country, Georgia, the Republicans practically peeing their pants with joy and anticipation.

Republicans are very good at moral imperatives. Except when it's THEM that has to follow them. :p

Ah, you're right about that. I just feel that America is hopeless when it comes to eating healthy. Sorry, I'm a pessimist.

And when I was a kid, the Kennedy administration was promoting an earlier edition of the very same national health and fitness program, one which began while Eisenhower was in office.

Nothing new here at all, folks.

No reason which makes any real sense.

I'm only surprised it took as long it did before someone pointed that out.

As far as I can tell, the man has gotten more publicity for playing golf and going to the beach than actually doing anything. I have yet to see him take any sort of serious action about anything beyond the stimulus package way back when. When I wrote that, I was short of time and probably should have waited before shooting my ass off.

And Michelle Obama has a calender for God's sake. I have yet to see a calender (or in fact, any sort of merchandising) related to any previous First Lady.

Why don't you just say "I don't read newspapers" and leave it at that?

Health care reform?
Don't ask don't tell?
Wall Street Reform?

I mean, I could go on, but why? It's clear that you don't read the news, don't care about the news, and try to actively avoid the news.

That's fine, but don't come here and brag about it. It's nothing to be proud of.

So typing 'Laura Bush Calendar' into Google shouldn't turn up any results, then?

I mean, you argue like people don't know what Google is. Is that ever an effective tactic anymore?
