Germany exclusive Star Trek trilogy "Prometheus" coming in 2016

Should I start an "official" Review Thread although it is only available in German for now?
I would say so. The novel is licensed and a review thread might help readers to decide if they want to buy it when the English edition comes out.

Yes, please. It's German only but TrekLit is TrekLit. We can revive it when the English eBook are out.

The discussion should be held in English, of course. Let's have the German fans break the language barrier for our American-speaking compatriots. Xx

Crud, I don't speak American. Anyone know if Google translate does American-to-Canadian? ;)

You should totally discuss it in German... then I can go into the thread without worrying about spoilers! :D

In all seriousness, though... how is it that English became the "official" language of the board? I actually feel a bit guilty, now. All the non-native-English speakers have to worry about translation and whatnot, whereas English speakers get to use their usual language. It doesn't really seem fair. With online translation available, would everyone posting in their own language really be so bad?

Aye. Adams didn't really find peace and quiet due to his wife's death, as indicated by Google Translate...

Also, Star Trek is an Anglophone product, and board is a on a ".com" website. So the language is English.

We are all Trek-fans here so I feel that we should talk Klingonese as a compromise.

Just a quick update, should anyone be interested. Book 1 of PROMETHEUS (German edition) is scheduled for release at the end of the week. Book 2 has just left the publisher's offices, headed for the printer. And since the new movie will hit local theatre screens tonight (my ticket is waiting right here on my desk), the local press is quite interested in us and our little trilogy as well. Here's me talking to German radio station "Deutschlandfunk" yesterday:

I'm pretty thrilled to see the novels finally hitting the stores and reaching their audience. This truly is a personal highlight. Hopefully the international edition will be following soon.

And here it is: Heavily guarded by the Prometheus and the Bortas. ;) I'm so excited. Some of you may think: "Yeah, well, it's another "Star Trek" novel." But being a long time fan (I started 1989 with the TNG television series and novels like "Black Fire" or "Corona") who for years didn't even dare to dream of contributing to "Star Trek" (since I'm from Germany), this book is really a big thing.

@Bernd Perplies / @Chris Humberg : May I ask, has shippment of the print issue been delayed?!

The original release date was July 22, then it was July 29, but even today I walked into several local bookstores and didn't find it.
I thought that maybe it's just because the local bookstores may be crap (one, actually the biggest in Freiburg, didn't even have a single Trek novel on shelf), but then I went to the German Amazon listing, and while they still have the release date as July 29, they say it's not been released yet.

I hope you can clarify the situation, because I really am looking forward to reading this book.

My local comic book store has it available since Tuesday..

That's weird. I mean, I could see our local book stores not being interested (though Freiburg has its fair share of Trekkies), or a shippment to our region being delayed, but Amazon?!

I can only say I'am as much confused as you, Kai. The books arrived Wednesday a week ago (well at least Cross Cult got their books for the release party two days later). They should have arrived easily at the online stores by now. However I also found no store (not buch.de, not thalia.de etc.) offering it today. It can only be a matter of one or two days, because the books exists. I saw them! I took a picture of one. :) (If there are no books on Monday, I will ask Cross Cult about it.)
