George and Gracie

Still, realistically, two individuals repopulating a species is a bit of a stretch, and would probably need at least some artificial insemination from human scientists.

I'm quite sure the great Captain Kirk...had enough seed to go around...to help Gracie out!:techman::lol:

Maybe the next release of VOYAGE HOME will have some long lost footage...heck even if it was just the puppet they made as the whale. you know shather took it home to play Doomsday Machine with his little private ship..munch munch

:wtf:

I'm really regretting that choice of wording...

Though never mentioned onscreen, official sources had cetacean navigators serving on the Enterprise-D, which included dolphins (which were briefly referenced onscreen, though not in context of their job function) and whales. Now where do you think they got those whales...?

As soon as the Probe was out of range Starfleet killed the whales to avoid temporal contamination. Gillian Taylor too. She wasn't going to her own science vessel, she was going to her own execution.
IT'S A COOKBOOK!!!!!

How can something from the past screw up the timeline?

Well, there were a couple of whales missing for a few decades there.

But then again, they were about to be killed by the whalers anyway, so you're off the . . . hook.

Then again, the Japanese/Russian/Norwegan (whatever) kids who'd have otherwise gotten to eat those harpooned whales all died and thus changed history. ;)
