Geordi's nails

Maybe Burton plays classical acoustic guitar. I noticed a male friend of mine had really long nails once and I asked him if he ever cuts them and he told me he grows them long to play classical guitar.

Hm, would that explain why his character preferred to listen to guitar music on at least two occasions? (Leah comes to dinner and in the shuttle when the Romulans kidnapped him).

Manicurists everywhere approve this thread.

I do not mean this as a criticism to the OP: but it is discussions like this one that makes me wonder why anyone would want to live a life in the public eye. Politicians, entertainers, etc live under such a microscope! How do they survive living under such constant scrutiny? It would make me insane!

I did notice Georgi's nails, but never thought much of it.

Great, now I'm going to be focusing on fingernails during the next showing on Syfy.

.

Might have an easier time shagging the ladies if they didn't notice the "Slut gloss clear white" nail polish.

I liked the kitty in the visor pic. (Super cute; poor kitty!) But I find I just can't get worked up about someone's manicure, no matter how I may try. Why are we discussing this exactly?

Because we've been watching this show for twenty-two fucking years and have nothing new and profound to say about it.

Up next: Riker's toenail fungus.

It's possible they used a hand double for him in shots where it's just "his" hands. They're used all the time.

I have never noticed Geordi's nails so it can't be that bad or otherwise I would have noticed methinks.

Indeed.

I've seen every episode at least twice and a good majority more than five times(I know this because I had a circle of people I would take the eps to and watch them with - I say SOME at least twice because I remember seeing "Masks" only twice because I couldn't stomach it any more than that!)and I NEVER noticed this.

I'd say it's some kind of personal aversion on the part of the OP for slightly longer nails. It might be a cultural thing, as well. Some people I know find longer white nails coming out of brown/black skin to be just kinda unusual.

It's all good and to each their own!

Ah, but that would be longer nails on one hand only, not both. For guitar you need the fretting hand to not have long nails.

I think I know why his nails look like that. It's probably the shape of his fingers. Some people have longer, tapering fingertips, that makes it very hard, if not impossible, to trim the nails back further without bleeding.

Just when you think every nit has been picked from a show that first aired 22 years ago...

I think the answer is simple...

Because he's LeVar F'in Burton, and he doesn't have to cut his nails if he doesn't want to.

Never mind Geordi's nails, what's up with Worf's elbows?

OMG I love this Forum

Me, too. On my job, I can't gain or lose five pounds w/o some coworker commenting. I don't mean a coworker who's turned into a real friend, just an ordinary coworker. And it drives me crazy. I couldn't imagine being a celebrity and having the whole world (so to speak) paying attention! <shudders>
