General Trek Questions and Observations

Random question: I’ve read that the Fresnel lenses used as the transporter pads in TOS were later incorporated in the ceiling of the TNG transporter. Does anyone know what happened to them after that or where they are today?

Quark stole them and sold them for a profit.

I don't think Worf properly "clocked out" for that break. He just took off his communicator and snuck out. So he was AWOL.

Plus, as a Starfleet officer he is probably subject to Starfleet regulations even when he is off duty. That's how real-world armies and navies work, isn't it?

Edit: Oops, for the part about taking off his communicator and walking out, I was thinking about the thing with Duras.

I don't think Worf could have been accused of murder in this case. The proper term is "assisted suicide", given that Kurn was provably a willing participant. Unless Starfleet is ruled by a bunch of unnuanced brutes they must be capable of making that distinction. Now the question is what are Starfleet rules on assisted suicide? I'll say that if they're half as evolved and civilized as they purport to be then there hardly should be any punishment for that. Plus Picard seemed perfectly Ok with Riker assisting Worf's suicide. So a little coherence would be appreciated.

About the cabbage mentioned above. Everytime cabbage is mentioned one must remember cabbage patch kids.

Yes, in the episode " A Night In Sickbay" Trip asks Archer if he ate cabbage before going down on the planet. That's what this episode was missing to be really great: A fart joke...

That is not correct. I read a few previous posts which mentioned cabbages and didn't think of Cabbage Patch Kids. A statement that event A inevitably leads to event B is proven false by even one counter example..

Being born inevitably leads to someday being dead. Do you know a counterexample to that?
