Well we know the real reason for the slip up in continuity so the fact that Generations hadn't been written yet lets Ronald D.Moore off with a warning!

DUCANE: Not precisely, but we've narrowed the window to a period two years before you joined the crew, when the ship was under attack.
SEVEN: Species three two nine, the Kazon.
DUCANE: Our database indicates Voyager was boarded twice during that period.
SEVEN: The Kazon are an inferior species. They don't possess the technology to create such a complex weapon.

I post this because Ducane illustrates his report with an image of Maje Culluh, whose smug face still screams out for a punch centuries later. The way Seven dismisses the Kazon just slays me with laughter...they really are poorly regarded, aren't they?
there is an earlier episode where Seven outright says that when they encountered the Kazon, the collective determined that they were unworthy of assimilation. I always took it as a shot by the writers at how crappy a “bad guy“ the Kazon were.
Yet Voyager sure spent a lot of time running away from this "inferior" species. It's this "inferior" species that forces Janeway to destroy the Caretaker array, and trap Voyager in the delta quadrant for years. The way Seven dismisses the Kazon just slays me with laughter...they really are poorly regarded, aren't they?
Here's a Trek imponderable...
Are very young Ferengi females allowed to wear diapers? Because if they're not, that effectively punishes every male in the house, resident and visitor alike.

If anything the writers should have leaned even harder into the whole space LA street gang concept, it was a good idea.
IMC Headquarters, if you've ever had to live someplace where street gangs exerted a strong influence, you might "appreciate" just how scary and powerful the Kazon appeared to be.
Ok, here's another one...
Given that no Ferengi female was ever allowed to wear clothing (at the time of "Family Business"), how did Ishka get her hands on a dress?
And the FCA never wondered what was up, a male Ferengi ordering a flowery sparkly gown?
Some people can make dresses themselves...![]()
