You don't need Earth. Is there enough metal and raw material available on Earth to build this starbase?

If not, how can it be achieved if humanity fails to invent ‘replicators’?![]()

Which planets should we mine first then? I don’t think that the moon has ‘metal’?You don't need Earth.
All of them. Start with asteroids, Jupiter's moons, etc. Be creative.Which planets should we mine first then? I don’t think that the moon has ‘metal’?![]()
Ok but this can’t be like a mad ‘gold rush’ with people sending spaceships out to planets with ‘gold dusting pans’. I would imagine that before we go searching for metal and other ‘materialistic’ precious ores and substances we should attempt to find ‘water’. This can be used to irrigate ‘space’ crops, provide drinking water to our spacemen and also allow us to wash. We could also use it produce hydrogen based ‘starship’ fuel. All of them. Funny enough, I was just rewatching this scene as well. One, it is still hilarious. Two, from the follow up discussion with the Breen it sounds like the Cardassians were in charge of security, only for the Jem'hadar to be put in charge after the incident. Damar even makes a point of this that the Jem'Hadar had failed in their security efforts and preventing their escape. Weyoun then has to reassure the Breen that this isn't normal security procedure and such failings will not happen again.Just saw the 'Worf snaps Weyoun's neck and Damar is laughing' scene again.
What I don't understand is how this could have happened in the first place. I mean, had those Cardassian guards been Jem'Hadar, Worf would have never gotten his chance. Weyoun also must have known that even though they were allies, the Cardassians weren't to be trusted 100%. After all, they also kept them into the dark about the alliance with the Breen. So why did he agree to no Jem Hadar at all being present when meeting Worf and Ezri?
Travis Mayweather should have died in Enterprise's series finale.
Instead, of course.Like Trip or instead of him?
Kirk's intent that he "always knew he'd die alone" was because if he had Spock and McCoy (and the rest, to a lesser extent) by his side or nearby, they'd find a way to save him from dying. So if he were going to die, it must be because none of his friends were around to save him at the time.I imagine it's probably because he knows if anything bad happens while he's with other people, he will always tell them to go and save themselves. He doesn't want anyone else to stay and die with him, but at the same time, he knows he'll be lonely if they leave like he tells them to.
What more is needed than what was said in the episode?Just saw the 'Worf snaps Weyoun's neck and Damar is laughing' scene again.

No need to get the materials from Earth. If your society were sophisticated, economically healthy, patient, and motivated enough to build a space station that large, you could get all the materials you need by gradually nudging (with a mass-driver or other method) an Iron-Nickel and other metal-rich Near Earth Asteroid into Earth orbit or one of the LaGrange Points and then mining the iron, nickel, carbon and other materials to make steel or other components for your space station. Is there enough metal and raw material available on Earth to build this starbase?
